My AAR days are over but last time I went (shortly after the pandemic) it basically wiped out my PD. Affordability and a few other factors do not bode well for AAR/SBL. But I had some very good times there over the years.

Practical, I think although Lutherans like to keep the font visible. I sometimes used to set it at the entrance for baptismal remembrance and to signal it as our entry to the church. I would move it to the front for baptisms.

Let me ask around. Does your student speak German or any Scandinavian languages? Another option would be to see if the WCC has youth internships? Our current Principal Dean did a year as a youth intern for the Lutheran World Federation in Geneva, and had a great experience. Is she Lutheran?

This is pretty big in the ELCA www.holdenvillage.org Also, there is a whole Lutheran world of pietists with bible schools, mission orgs, etc. But they aren't very warm to the ELCIC and the ELCA, although there is some drift back and forth.

I turn 65 in January and will retire when the Winter semester ends. My daughter has a PhD (geology) and is waiting for people like me to retire. Retirement is an imperative for me.

I recall a retired pastor telling me that the seminary should forget about our spiritual care and Psychotherapy degree and focus on MDivs. I gave him a conservative estimate of the need for 25 students per year to keep the ship afloat. When I asked him about 25 vacancies each spring he went silent.

Yes, I do wine and beer both. Beer can be a bit more complicated if you buy malt. But I usually buy a can of prepared malt syrup and you simply add dextrose or some other sugar. After a week or so you add some sugar for carbination.
