I know most of you guys don't go on the other app but the pope posted an anti AI/ pro artists statement yesterday, and the ensuing cope and memes is really funny

Pope Leo XIV
@Pontifex

In this era of artificial intelligence, it is becoming urgent to distinguish human art from what machines produce. There is an ontological difference, even before an aesthetic one, between art and what a machine can generate through statistical calculation based on millions of images created by others. Algorithms lack the spark of humanity. For this reason, the Church wishes to renew an alliance with artists and cultural institutions to safeguard our humanity.

2016: I will never fight a holy war

2019: Pope Leo I am ready launch me towards the nearest data center

some AI guy saying he makes christian children's books with AI asking the pope if that is ok then and someone posting a meme react with the pope holding a baseball bat saying 'did I stutter'

don't bother addressing a congregation unless you're in the baroque creature pulpit

Tiny colour experiment sketches ✨ Featuring #RavnicaRenegades characters. Adding polychromos to my watercolours. Alpha: @unpolar.bsky.social Vanya: @allbluelime.bsky.social #DNDart #OCart #OCsky #OC #TradArt #Art

Traditional sketches of two ttrpg dnd characters: Alpha and Vanya. Watercolours with black polychromos lines. Both are simple busts.

Alpha is a masc person with a one sided undercut and red hair wearing a black shirt up his neck and a hearing aid in the one visible ear. He's glancing to the side with a challenging grin.

Vanya is a femme person with short blonde hair and blue eyes, a gab between her front teeth and scarring reaching the left side of her face. She's wearing a metallic golden armour. There's an amused smile on her lip as she's looking at someone off screen.

A bubble next to Vanya is reading: "But that also counts for you."

kris. (Allez-go! 🇫🇷⚜️) @allbluelime.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

Our Connection

Digital art of two women gently holding onto one another. Both women are missing their faces. A reddish-orange tangled mass of organic material flows out from where their faces should be and connects them together.
