Excited to share our latest work in @ajhgnews.bsky.social 🧬📄 We mapped the regulatory landscape of human liver at single-nucleus resolution using snMultiome, connecting genetic variants to the cell-type mechanisms underlying cardiometabolic disease. www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

I'm become quite partial to cell-type-biased (population-biased) terminology rather than cell-type-specific (population-specific) when it comes to QTLs, because it reflects better that these are a result of power, rather than biological differences.

It was used to indicate different effect sizes (not statistical 'bias'). So population-biased eQTLs, sex-biased eQTLs = inclusive of poss 'pop-/sex-'specific. There was lots of discussion about how to refer to these. 'specific' was a hard "no" for many of the reasons mentioned above in this thread.

Stop by PB1200 if you are interested about the genetic regulation of chromatin accessibility and gene expression using single nucleus multiome sequencing in the liver! Looking forward to meeting you #ASHG2023
