One person who has become important in this Trump-election denier ecosystem who has not gotten much coverage: John Goodman. The Florida activist directly connects those (like Peter Ticktin & Jerome Corsi) behind last year's proposed national emergency EO with Wayne Allyn Root's push for it now.
John Goodman
Allegedly involved with proposal for “national emergency” executive order

Who is John Goodman? Goodman is a member of the “Florida Election Integrity Committee,” and he has pushed claims about fraudulent mail-in ballots in the 2020 election.

What has John Goodman been up to?

-Wayne Allyn Root suggested that Goodman worked on a proposed executive order for the midterms with Jerome Corsi and Peter Ticktin. He called Goodman “my election expert” who said to him that a national security emergency is “the way to go.”
-According to Goodman, he was put in touch with Root in March “and we started talking and discussing” the national emergency idea and wanted to “try to find a way that was legal” where there would be “no obstruction.”
-On Root’s program, Corsi claimed to “have been working also with” Goodman.Mark Cook
Claimed to be involved with drafting proposal for “national emergency” executive order

Who is Mark Cook? Cook has been described as one “of the most influential election deniers in Colorado.” Cook traveled the country in 2024 for the “Hand Count Roadshow,” claiming that voting machines can be manipulated and advocating for hand-counting votes. As Slate reported, he “has been a featured guest on MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell’s show Lindell TV to promote the theory that Dominion Voting Systems rigged the 2020 election.”

What has Mark Cook been up to? During media appearances, Cook has discussed his election denial activity and ties with the administration.

-Cook has said that he was a “co-author” of a proposed executive order for the midterms that circulated within the administration.
-During a podcast interview, he called for Trump to declare a national emergency for the midterms, with the military’s involvement.
-Wayne Allyn Root had Cook on his show to discuss the national emergency proposal, saying Goodman had connected them. During the interview, Cook said again that he “was a co-author of that 17-page EO,” which Root said he was “now trying to turn into a national security emergency.”

Alex Kaplan @alkapdc.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
-Jerome Corsi claimed that Peter Ticktin “briefed Trump” on supposed algorithms that can cause election fraud. -Ralph Pezzullo claimed that “14 engineers that Gary [Berntsen] & Martin [Rodil] recruited” as part of an investigation into supposed election fraud “were deposed by" the DOJ.

Gregg Phillips, who's been a board member of election denial group True the Vote (& worked in the Trump admin), criticized the national emergency/pausing elections push, noting a president doesn't have "special authority to postpone, cancel, take over, or rewrite the rules for federal elections."
Gregg Phillips on Truth Social in response to a user asking, "What if he declares a national emergency?":

"The United States has never paused, canceled, or delayed a nationwide federal general election - not during the War of 1813, the Civil War, two World Wars, the Great Depression, the 1918 flu pandemic, 9/11, major hurricanes, COVID or anything else.

A President cannot unilaterally cancel or postpone an election. Congress sets the federal Election Day, and constitutional deadlines still apply: House terms end January 3, and presidential terms end at noon on January 20.

America has never 'paused' a national election.

That is not how our constitutional system works."Gregg Phillips on Truth Social in response to a user asking, "What if he declares a national emergency?":

"No. A presidential declaration of a national emergency does not give the President special authority to postpone, cancel, take over, or rewrite the rules for federal elections.
A national-emergency declaration is not a blank check. It activates only specific powers Congress has already placed in particular statutes. Congress has authorized many emergency authorities, but none authorizes a President to move Election Day, cancel an election, choose presidential electors, alter voting rules, or place federal elections under White House control."

Folks, figures (Wayne Allyn Root, Peter Ticktin) calling for "martial law" are not new. It's part of online calls from a network of election deniers since last year. Some in the far right — including True the Vote partner & onetime Trump admin official Gregg Phillips — attacked Fox News for joining outlets in a WH boycott in response to the admin bans of Politico, CNN, & MS NOW, calling Fox "Globalist Deep Staters" who should "go to jail for voter suppression."
Left: QAnon figure MJTruth: "Fox News says they won’t cover President Trump’s events anymore, but they sure will cover Kamala Harris..

Fox News can kick rocks"

Right: QAnon figure Burning Bright: "In 2016, it was common knowledge among the newly-formed MAGA faithful that FOX was not our friend.

They doubled down with their role in the Fake Election of 2020.

Now, FOX is leading the charge AGAINST Trump's banning of CNN.

They're NOT secret white hats, and never have been."Left: Qanon figure The SCIF: "CNN, MSNOW, and Politico spent over a DECADE lying about and belittling President Trump.

They totally deserve what they've gotten.

Fox News saw it all happen.

But now, instead of standing up for Trump and spreading the truth, Fox News is standing by CNN, et Al.

They are all the same."

Right: QAnon figure Pepe Deluxe: "Perfect timing!

It appears that Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) sent a fundraising email via an email distribution domain from the conservative social media platform Parler. ("Free Speech Daily" sends emails through "parlermailer[dot]com.")
"A Special Message from our Sponsor
Please note that views expressed in this message do not necessarily reflect those of Free Speech Daily and do not constitute an endorsement or recommendation by Free Speech Daily.

Dear Friend who has common sense,

I'm always going to stand with America.

I'm always going to reject the extremes.

I'm always going to reject Socialism.

I'm always going to fight against the anti-American way of life.

And this has enraged a lot of people in the media, in my party, and even former staffers --- disgruntled leakers who are viciously and anonymously attacking me.

This is what happens when you put common sense and the wellbeing of the people you are supposed to represent ahead of party loyalty.

But most of all, I think this is what happens when you clash with the Socialist movement "DSA!" that is hijacking the Democratic party.

They want to...

Abolish our borders

Abolish the electoral college

Abolish Israel

Abolish the Senate and the Supreme Court (no, seriously, this is in the "DSA!" platform)

That bad news is the "DSA!" crazies have gone from the political fringe to controlling one of America's major political parties—and onto ballots across the country.

The good news is the hardworking, common-sense Americans I talk to every day still aren't buying it.

I mean, a recent Rasmussen poll kind of proves it:

71% of Americans reject socialism

67% of Democrat voters reject socialism

While 82% of Republican voters reject socialism

But here's the thing. The loudest voice in the room is often the one that looks the most powerful."And I've got to say, the "DSA!" voices in Washington are loud and getting louder. The media is their megaphone.

Which is why you may be under the false impression that people really do want the "DSA!" and their extreme policies

Nothing could be further from the truth.

I'm standing up to them.

But sadly I'm pretty much alone on this side of the aisle.

So, can I ask you a favor?

Whatever your party affiliation is, can I ask you to stand with me against the daily barrage of hit-pieces

If you can donate just $25 it would be a big help to me.

But it will also send a message. It will show the truth that the "real numbers" are on our side here in Pennsylvania, as well as around the rest of America.

You know, I recently stood in front of the iconic U.S. Steel Mill and recorded a video talking about how my friend Dave McCormick and I banded together with President Trump to save this facility and the larger steel industry. But I'm not backing down.

...

John Fetterman

P.S. - I'll bet you're more than a little surprised to get this email from me. So, I want to say thanks for setting aside party affiliation for a second and hearing me out. You see, I'm not a progressive. And I'm definitely not a Democratic Socialist. I'm just a senator with a big mouth who happens to stand for common-sense things like... strong borders, safe streets, a powerful economy, bringing jobs to my constituents, and Israel and Ukraine's right to defend themselves, not to mention the basic machinery of our democracy (the Electoral College, the Senate, and the Supreme Court). If you see eye-to-eye with me, then I could sure use your help. The "DSA!" vision for Pennsylvania and for America is not a healthy one. It is a dangerous one.Common-sense people need to join together now to reject this vision before it's too late. Can I count on you to stand with me today?
