Given yesterday's announcement of the latest wanton vandalism at the BBC we have never been more in need of someone genuinely committed to public service broadcasting in the DCMS seat. This will clearly never be Nandy and surely almost anyone would be better

Did Baroness Harding just say that if we're not allowed to keep everything we own then we won't have anything to share? #bbcaq

Can any producers at #newsnight tell me the last time that GB News invited a BBC journalist on to one of their programmes? Or is this more of a one-way type of arrangement?

My favourite one of these. John Richardson, art historian and biographer of Picasso, only died in 2019. His paternal Grandfather was born during the reign of George III

I really must object. When it comes to bad and wrong political predictions Lord Hannan of Kingsclere remains unsurpassed. It is, essentially, his only achievement.

Poor management by #newsnight producers, on an anniversary that required a certain gravitas, to schedule a presenter so wholly unable to provide it

I'd like to think that Kent's Chief Constable would be in the Police and Crime Commissioner's office first thing in the morning explaining the decision making behind the lack of even a single arrest. I'm not holding my breath.

Appointing as Chair Osborne, a man who did so much willful damage to culture as Chancellor, showed that the British Museum was now an institution that valued money and courting the wealthy above everything else - so this seems a logical conclusion. www.theguardian.com/culture/2026...

Having watched the extended #newsnight interview with Hunter Biden the obvious, albeit slightly parochial, question is, what possible relevance did it have for the average licence fee payer?
