Andy Burnham is calling out former Tory PMs for failing to disclose Russian interference in the EU referendum However Burnham is NOT calling out british PM Cameron colluding with Putin to interfere in the Scottish indyref, or his Israeli state friends interfering in the recent Holyrood election 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺😎

🇬🇧🇮🇱 Burnham fails to call out Netanyahu for the Israeli state’s foreign interference in the recent Holyrood election, after the SNP Scottish government criticised the regime’s Genocide in Gaza Obviously Burnham is more than happy when foreign interference fits with his anti-independence agenda 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇪🇺😎

That is about footballification and not independence. The polls clearly indicate that not all would be YES voters necessarily vote for Nationalist or Independence parties some vote for Unionist parties.

In Scotland, we provide free personal care for older people without punishing pensioners. Andy Burnham removing the triple lock would simply repeat the mistakes of Keir Starmer. The blame for the UK’s financial mess lies with successive Westminster governments, not pensioners.

We have lots of things to be prepared for “if and when” such as nuclear submarines and aircraft carriers. So what would so wrong with a wee bit of preparation for if and when Irish unity or Scottish independence? None are inevitable but all are possible.

That planning period should not be about politicking. It should recognise the poll and work positively towards a just and equitable agreement.

I get that it’s not practical to have a 50+1 unification / independence poll an then barge straight into it. However having a national poll to judge if that’s what people want and if it is should lead to several years planning and preparation.

Finally! A believable reason for WM cancelling the £1.5 billion wind turbine project. The security risk claim was nonsense. WM allowed billions of pounds of Chinese investments elsewhere in the UK. So what was the real reason for closing Grangemouth? I think we know. WM is abusing Scotland! #indynow

We can’t be sure what Scotlands economy and tax take will be after independence, we hope it will be better but for now let’s assume it will be no worse. Some things GERS includes we will have to pay for others may be a choice. So where are we between the two? We need to see the alternative to GERS.

There is no other option, the system we have means that it must be SNP1 & Green2. Meanwhile the YES movement needs to work together and drive the campaign, there is no room for division. Anyone who says they support independence and votes for a faction or unionist party is either deluded or lying.

Alistair Barron @alistairbarron.bsky.social · 08/08/2026
The YES movement is THE vehicle for campaigning and messaging but that won’t change the unionist parties. We do need the SNP and not various factions to represent us en bloc politically.

Perhaps King Andy needs educating? There are 4 countries that make up the United Kingdom. Burnham can attempt to write the UK constitution but only insofar as affects the UK. He cannot rewrite the rules of the constituent counties nor can he change the UK rules without the members agreement.

Alistair Barron @alistairbarron.bsky.social · 02/08/2026
Neither Burnham nor the Westminster government is in a position to or has the right to write a new constitution for Scotland. That is the prerogative of Scottish people so maybe he would like to put it us in a referendum?

At any given moment you could ask yourself: What’s the most cynical, self-interested, irresponsible and yet also incredibly basic thing you could do now, and that’s precisely what he’ll do - whether it’s making anti-immigration videos or joining Reform. And yet, despite the obviousness of the action itself, he will always pursue it with this look of deep seriousness, as if he were Napoleon devising the Italian campaign.

From the perspective of the BBC in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scotland, any success by our government is NOT a matter of public information and must be hidden. The usual tactics are selective presentation of data, usually via a "friendly expert" with links to a London party. Currently it's the pilots of GP walk-in clinics.
