Hagfish study from a photograph. I love how they wrinkle.

A digital painting of a hagfish that is curled up. A hagfish is an animal that is shaped like an eel or worm and is long and slimy. Here its body is curled into a spiral as it rests on the ocean floor. The digital painting uses brighter colors than an actual hagfish has and focuses on the contrast between most of the animal's smooth skin and the places on the inside of the spiral where the skin is creased.

In 2019 I made lil 16 page Roland zines. Roland, my fursona, is a witch and I read a lot of research journal articles to invent a new magical practice from scratch that would make sense for him, as a bearded vulture. A few people ended up thinking it was a real thing.

I made a funky little bird patch for a friend a while ago and received word today that it is finally going to be applied to the ass!

This suit looked like a little guy nervous to go to school on its first day so I drew it real quick

A screenshot of a product listing for a chemical and radiation protective suit. The suit is not occupied by a human and rests on a flat surface, giving it the appearance of a flattened person with hands and feet where the torso ends in an enormous head. Some of the label and air intakes and outtakes are placed in such a way that it looks to have wonky eyes.

Study from a photo of a crab. The original photograph I worked from is by Tin Yam Chan, who (as I understand it) is an expert on deep sea crustaceans and has tons of great photos.

My mom and I are very clumsy so broken dishes happen fairly often. We save the shards and periodically make mosaics out of them, especially if they were nice bowls or things we were attached to. Here's today's!

Want to draw this scene so I'm doing doodles to see what I like the look of. My visual imagination sucks so I have to "think with my hands" (as @thorazos.bsky.social calls it) and I do tons of thumbs of ideas before I do anything big.

A linen shirt with some holes has been sent to me to fix and patch over with an elaborate patch. My first step, though, will be putting a patch of fabric behind the hole and stitching all over to stabilize it, so the hole absolutely cannot spread. I love to stabilize.

Just sharing this because I have determined that Darth Maul is the hardest character to draw from anything because the facial tattoos are basically expression camouflage. God damn.

A page I submitted a while back to a little library community anthology zine.

A photograph of a piece of paper with drawings and handwritten text on it. It says, "My favorite book is called The 13 Clocks by James Thurber." Then there's a drawing of hands holding the book and the text, "I found a copy in my house before I knew how to read and fell in love with the illustrations by Marc Simont" then there's a drawing of me as a kid reading it and text that says, "I stared at it for hours. The book was already very old when I was born! When I got older, I read the words, too, and realized this book is just delicious if your food of choice is words. Rhymes & poetry are hidden in the prose, hard to find unless you read out loud." Then there is a large text quote from the book. "He was six feet four and forty-six, and even colder than he thought he was" and then text that helpfully adds, "a line about the bad guy" to clarify the quote. At the bottom is a drawing of me reading in bed and the words "I still read it as a bedtime story sometimes. --Alison Robin

Just a cat and a juicebox gone fishin'

Was going to make this into a sticker but I lost the painting when I moved! This was based on an actual leaf I found on the ground. You can see I was using the rest of the paper to test colors for other stuff.

In Burns, OR, I recently stayed at a house where about a dozen California Quail (Callipepla californica) would swing by the house every day to check the yard for morsels fallen from a hanging birdfeeder. Took a shot at drawing a male in ink. #birds

I drew a spooky scene from Abarat Chapter 16: The Universal Eye by Clive Barker “Now what is this?” he said, so, so softly. He narrowed his eyes, taking off his glove and putting his naked hand on one of the screens as if wishing he could reach into it and seize hold of the girl herself.

You're very lucky, you know. Angels almost never take human spouses. No one in living memory has attended a wedding such as this. Don't get cold feet now.

Old art based on a dream I had long ago about people who are wardens of a castle full of monsters.

I have slowly been working on this picture of someone who lives or sleeps in a barn loft realizing there's been a vampire incursion. I own a few amateur handmade quilts and have been thinking of them as I come up with this one.

Eventually I wanna do a big art in top down perspective based on a dream I had in high school about the groundskeepers of an antient castle belonging to a bedridden vampire. I don't know if my notes can make sense to others.

Goblin Week 2023 approaches! Here are some old goblins I made for Goblin Week 2018. #GoblinWeek

Another True Detective reference with Roland, I made a discord sticker of him doing the "smoking drugs while checking phone meme" for when people post some crazy shit.

His eyes are wide and his pupils have shrunk to tiny dots, implying tremendous stress from whatever he's seen on the phone. Only his head, shoulders, and hands are shown and they are outlined with a white border as if they are an actual sticker.

Rediscovered an old drawing of Roland with Chazz and Mef, just a redraw of a True Detective screenshot. Mef is sitting on Chazz' lap, it was the only way to get all three of them in the shot from TD.

In the passenger seat is an anthropomorphic Sun conure (Chazz) and a small anthropomorphic crow with cat ears (Mef). Chazz and Mef look somewhat uneasy. Overlaid near the bottom of the drawing are the words "something poetic and intensely creepy" in brackets, suggesting that Roland is creeping his friends out.

This is the monster/one of the main characters from the big writing project I worked on as a kid. I redrew this guy for the first time in ages a few years ago, I'll always have a soft spot for middle school me's ideas.

It's best explained by his relationship to fucked up magic (he is both witch and witch doctor), but just as easily explained by the fact that toons can do just about anything when it's funny

I turned a scrap piece of badly-faded block-printed fabric into a patch for my pants by stitching over where I thought maybe the pattern used to be. From a distance it seems fairly coherent, but up close you can see the chaos.

Study of a photograph of a stoneware sculpture by Larry Nelson (who makes delightful ceramic teapots that look like they're made of metal pipes), but I got distracted and made some changes so I could focus a little bit longer
