This brought me so much joy yesterday. Portsmouth Pride outside the Guildhall, where just four weeks ago Stand Up To Racism Portsmouth counter-protested a very nasty Far Right protest in this same location.

A glimpse from the Museum of Europe. Soon after WWII the Universal Declaration of Human Rights was drawn up. It was fascinating that it took us three attempts to join the EEC, after being turned down by our neighbour twice. The resilience and reconciliation during that time. 🙏🏼

Who’s struck by the close proximity of the trees and that they are fast growing pines that are on fire near Bordeaux? A large man-made forest planted for industrial purposes and to limit the advancement of sand dunes. I’m not an ecologist, but there’s a resource imbalance here.

Last month I cycled the South Downs Way over four days. It was a great thing to do. Here’s a collage of a few images from the ride. Stunning scenery and a sense of just getting away from things. Definitely worth doing.
