alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 02/01/2026Finally ditched Nvidia for AMD after a year of headaches. Linux issues? Gone. Red Team all the way—I should have switched sooner! 030
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 05/09/2025Sounds cool. I wonder did you consider Merkle-CRDT? It wasn't mentioned in the paper but it is a kind of a blockchain-IPFS hybrid. 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 04/09/2025IPFS, libp2p, and related projects are adding incredible value to the developer ecosystem. ♥️ 061
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 04/09/2025Yes so it isn't backup. That's the whole point we were talking about here. If pool fails snapshots are gone... 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 03/09/2025Then you surely have a minute to renew your SSL certificate. 🤠 110
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 03/09/2025It's nice to see people sharing real-world experience. Thank you for this. 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 03/09/2025If your ZFS pool dies, so do your snapshots. It's not common to back up pools more often than daily. 210
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 03/09/2025They said the issue was caused by a RAID failure. Snapshots, whether from ZFS or Ceph, won't protect you from that, as the entire storage pool could fail in the same way. 370
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 26/08/2025Are influencers' endorsements of cryptocurrency based on a genuine belief in the technology, or are they constructing a fragile illusion for personal gain? 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 22/02/2025The new 570 NVIDIA driver finally seems to be usable on Wayland. 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 18/02/2025It would be a shame. Just when we got native context support for VirtIO 😟 000

alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 11/02/2025I searched for something like that for a while but eventually decided on the CM3588 and went full DIY. - 5 HDD bays (could fit 6, but no space in the cabinet) - 3 NVMe slots - GPIO-controlled HDD power - 3D-printed case - Armbian with Btrfs for boot/root So far no regrets. 😊 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Anyone else rocking #cm3588 DIY NAS? I got fairly nice setup - 16GB ram, 5 HDD positions, 3 nvme positions. #rockchip #diy #nas 000
alis.is @alisis.bsky.social · 02/02/2025Yes thank you. Your post helped 🙂 I was unsure because of the penalization on X. 010
