Four hand block printed, parchment colored bookmarks laid one above the other on a blue cutting mat. Each with a hole punched and a hemp twine tassel attached to it, stretching out towards the right. Another unattached tassel is laid vertically next to the outstretched tassels. The four block prints are of four diferent long wyvern like creatures. The top has leathery wings folded over it’s back, and is sticking out it’s long black tongue. It’s tail transitions to a long thick curling filigree. The next has feathery wings folded over it’s back, it is stretching out it’s long neck and breathing filigree like curls instead of fire. It’s tail extends behind it and splits into two and each end there is another smaller head, one looking straight back and the other curling up and around to look towards the main head. The next has feathery wings and a tail that splits into multiple filigree leaves, one wing is swept up and back and one is swept forward and down behind it, and the last is wearing a softly pointed hood over it’s head and holding a small ball in it’s mouth. Instead of feet it has two human like hands, and it’s tail transitions to a long thick curling filigree.

a photo of some block prints on white paper laid out on a table, the prints are of a lava lamp with an orange and black striped base and top cap with yellow highlights. Inside the main lamp, instead of the usual lava, there are white ghosts floating around on a black background in a similar manner.

leafhopper! I was entranced by this little guy's leaf veins & his silly little expression. I'm not sure i got the expression, & the veins in my version are a bit thicker than the original, but they needed to be to show when shrunk down for a sticker. either way, I'm really happy with this one.

time to show off more #mailArt, I think! gotta say, July's mail art was a ton of colorful fun!

several hand made and decorated envelopes laid out on a blue cutting mat,
each envelope has an open grid of multi colored soft edged rectangles in various shapes and sizes, in a very abstract, modern op art ish type of way (more... Warhol or Kandinsky than Mondrian) the effect is very bright and cheerful in a vaguely rainbowy sort of way.
