Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths This one's actually quite good I'd say, has aged very well and characterizes all of the League members near spot on compared to basically any other DCAU movie

12 Angry Men Infinitely entertaining and expertly shot all entirely in just one location, driven all by witty dialogue with also some rather insightful social commentary for its time Hat guy should die and go to hell btw

The Return of Godzilla I decided to start the Heisei movies on a whim (it was only this one lol) and oh my god it took so long for me to find the original Japanese version for this Great movie though! I love how it covers the Cold War and so expertly and blatantly says that America sucks, so based

Evangelion Rebuild 3.0 The Kaworu stuff in this movie was an absolute treat, but here's my review for this as well. LOT of thoughts on it

Evangelion Rebuild 2.0: You Can (Not) Advance Now THIS was not something I was expecting at all Here's my Letterboxd review bc I cannot cover this all just here

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Evangelion Rebuild 1.0: You Are (Not) Alone Though it is more or less just the first few episodes of Eva retold and reshot with a new coat of paint, it isn't entirely a waste of time to me. Would be great for newcomers, but unfortunately does cut out a lot of precious, necessary time from the anime

Lupin III: The First I went into this with absolutely zero knowledge on what it would be like at all, and came out absolutely floored at how much it recaptured that same sense of wonder and adventure I got from Cagliostro Lupin is so fucking cool too actual monster aura

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Godzilla Minus One (rewatch) I'm glad to have watched it in actual film quality this time instead of piracy site adds It's a horrifying spectacle, yet ironically it's the human parts to the story that truly give it its staying power

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Lupin III: The Castle of Cagliostro Maybe not the most ideal to introduce myself to Lupin's series through undeniably one of his best movies, I didn't really mind that It makes for a wonderful joyride start to end, making me instantly fall in love with Lupin and his friends

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 14/01/2026

Superman: The Elite (rewatch) While not as perfect as a lot of people normally like to make it out to be, the last act of this movie is still incredible and shows why having the power to make change should always be for good

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 13/01/2026

Transformers: The Movie It's grand, epic and still very powerful even today. It's constant stunning animation and score alone are enough for it to bake in my mind for a long time It's not perfect though, there's unfortunately quite a lot of filler too

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Mission: Yozakura Family (S1 Anime) It's alright, I see some potential staying power through the charm of its cast but I don't ever expect this to be a series I care too much for

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Edge of the Spider-Verse Tbh I only really read it bc of Peni but it's really just a bunch of very fast origin tellings of different Spider-Variants. Nothing special, though I might appreciate it more once I read Spider-Verse

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Batman: The Killing Joke What's great about it is just as great as I remember, but I won't lie when I say that it's like a lot of other of Batman's most popular works for being rather overhyped Not happy with how it handled the Gordons, and having any origin for Jonkler still doesn't sit right imo

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Swamp Thing: Green Hell Kind of a disappointing read with this being Swampy's only Black Label title so far, especially with Lemire being the one who wrote it so it gave me false expectations Not bad but very forgettable outside of Constantine suffering even more

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Stargirl: The Lost Children Wish I got more of Stargirl and her own stuff herself in the story named after her instead of more Johns-isms with the constant Golden Age fanservice, but it wasn't a bad read

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

War of the Worlds PHIL COULSONS THE BAD GUY???????

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Moonstruck I won't lie I wish I liked it a lot more since it's such a rarity to have queer works done by queer creators In spite of all the fluff and vibes the story taking up so much of its brut made it not as enjoyable when the story itself isn't really anything special or intuitive to me

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Alien Stage (full series + alternative covers) Start to end it manages to be the biggest punch to the gut to ever exist from emotionally enriching and otherwordly music paired with it's depressing yet overly vibrant world. And it has rightfully become an absolute classic for Youtube indie originals

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Nevermind (Nirvana) It really just is one of the best rock albums out there. I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to pick up other grunge artists simply just because of how much Nirvana already does it for me

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 01/01/2026

Saturation (Brockhampton) Definitely can tell this is one of their earlier works, but as far as I can tell this is still their best album too. It's so chill yet also responsible for some really good cyphers too

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Red Moon in Venus (Kali Uchis) Honestly I think I might like Isolation more, but that being said this is still a must listen for its gorgeous vibes and it being a lot more latam focused over english, Don Toliver collab was a welcome surprise

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Batman/Superman/Wonder Woman: Trinity I really fw Wagner's works normally and I do like how this story interprets Artemis into it, but I can't really say I enjoyed Ra's characterization and its second half nerfing Diana Her stomping Ra's was really funny though

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Batman: Year Two Definitely an interesting read but idk man even with the camp and seeing where Phantasm came from it's just not really my kinda Batman

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Batman: Year One Great feeling to finally read it for once, it's great but calling it Batman's best comic is definitely a stretch

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow? (Deluxe Edition) An absolutely wonderful and bittersweet end to Pre-Crisis Superman's story. I heavily recommend picking up some of his stories before this one so it hits a lot harder for that

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

DC Showcase: full series Genuinely a great way to introduce yourself to some of DC's lesser appreciated characters. Some are definitely better than others, but the biggest standout special is absolutely Death of the Endless'

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Superman: Birthright Forever one of the origin story GOATs for any superhero, Supergunn could never replicate something this sincere

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 31/12/2025

Fire and Ice: Welcome to Smallville Yeahhhh as my first proper introduction to them this wasn't doing it any favors, I never got the impression their relationship was this toxic because it probably isn't at all Also this book as it is is really unfunny too

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Sinners Genuinely movie of the year kinda shit here. I'm not huge on how many of the characters died but oh my god this movie was so great at setup and payoff, as well as recreating some super fascinating folklore too

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Joker (Azzarello) It fucking sucks and summarizes how much I hate modern Jonkler 💔

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Superman (2025) I am very conflicted about this movie now that it's come and gone A TON of stuff that I love is here, no doubt about that at all; action and fanservice is top notch But the center theme is just so weirdly anti-immigrant for some reason and it sucks DCU fans are weird abt it too

The New Batman Adventures: Mad Love and Other Stories Dini continues to prove that he never fucking misses

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Nurture (Porter Robinson) Holy SHIT dude I was not expecting Porter to not just live up to the hype but absolutely transcend it, this is a new all-timer for me

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Wonder Woman: Dead Earth A bleak but ultimately very hopeful book with absolutely GORGEOUS artwork Not a huge fan of the twist midway through with the Amazons though

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Superman/Batman: Supergirl It's got a lot of stuff to like in it but I'm sorry I just can't get over how much I don't like its sexualization of Kara, she's not written poorly but idk I feel like Loeb infantilizes her a bit too much

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Superman: Up in the Sky Morbid curiosity while at my library leads to terrible decisions Another T*m King book and it just doesn't live up to hype at all

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

The Omega Men (dropped) I sure love Kyle Rayner torture porn written by a war criminal! Art is pretty at least

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Batman: Wayne Family Adventures (up to date) I really like it! Yeah it does woobify and water down the more serious parts of its cast, but later on makes up for it by being able to balance its slice of life with genuine character moments

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Batman/Superman: World's Finest (dropped) Aimless, but fun little stories of DC's older cast to try and bring back that Silver Age magic, but unfortunately the longer plots and lack of Dan Mora's artwork later on made it increasingly boring

120

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Aquaman: Andromeda Super eerie book, but one with a ton of underlying heart buried underneath its slow burn horror. LOVE how they handle Arthur's insecurities

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Hatsune Miku Colorful Stage: Journey to Bloom A cute, well-animated recap of all the main stories in the game. A good starting point, though they do speed by what make them so special

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

Puparia I very artistically inspired movie with a pretty cute throughline with its three segments with the butterfly motif, not really something that leaves a personal impact on me though

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/09/2025

I Saw the TV Glow The most harrowing experience through an art medium I've ever experienced. Narrates what is probably the scariest future I could ever imagine for myself for how real it feels in spite of how dreamlike it seems. One of my favorite films, I treasure it like you wouldn't believe.

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold For as cheaply made the movie looks it really is a trip down memory lane for me, both of these shows mean a lot to my early days so it felt so good to be back :) my goat Question got done dirty though

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Justice League: A New Frontier Short and sweet, but I do honestly long for a lot more from this. Even with the great voice acting and 1960s aesthetic I do feel like it just doesn't do Darwyn Cooke's art any justice at all Expecting to read the comic soon

110

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Venom: The Last Dance i will forget you buddy.

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Batman VS The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles The character dynamic the turtles have with the Batfamily is something I never knew I needed honestly, just a really charming movie that strikes that great balance of fun and action that I love about these series

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Ballerina Was really not expecting it to be as great as it was not long after JW4, even the expected problems I have with this series subsided a bit Some of the most brutal action sequences in the series yet, made better with the best character writing we've gotten yet in the Wick series too

100

starry @alienstarry.bsky.social · 08/07/2025

Superman/Batman: Public Enemies A decent movie with a very good usage of Clark and Bruce's bond as well as having Lex a lot more depraved than usual It's also very gay too holy shit
