I'm definitely enjoying Ace Combat 8 so far, but I'm definitely still getting used to the flight model. I love the weight of the planes, but I keep finding myself over-rolling. My instincts are telling me that this is one of the most realistic flight models in the series.

Oh, god damn it. The PC version of Ace Combat Zero doesn't have proper HOTAS support. The game is completely unplayable with the built in control scheme. That's disappointing, but not hugely surprising considering the extremely limited HOTAS support of Ace Combat 8.

Oh, yuck. The guy who made these is using LLMs to decompile the game and openly admits to using Claude to retranslate Ace Combat 3 since the original translation team refused to let him use their work because of the LLM use. Guess I'm going back to emulation for these games.

Played the Ace Combat 5 recompile briefly. I really hope someone decides to add HOTAS support to this and the Ace Combat 6 recompile because the guy who made them has no plans to do so. Which is a bit frustrating since both games have (admittedly limited) HOTAS support on original hardware.

Finished Gears of War 4. Literally had a checkpoint at the final boss and didn't realize it. Not a great final boss, for the record. How was the game overall? It's... Gears of War. It's a good game, but like Gears 2 and 3 before it, it sometimes just feels like a mission pack.

OK, I've not claimed all of the Xbox digital licenses I can. Just under half of the games I own on disc for Xbox can be claimed (list in replies). The only discs I did not test are Rock Band 4 and Assassin's Creed Unity because I already had those digitally.
