No food, aid, or fuel have entered Gaza since March 2. Community kitchens have closed. Children are sick, thirsty, and starving. Now Netanyahu’s government wants to occupy Gaza and shut down the existing aid distribution system run by the UN and its humanitarian partners. Arms embargo now.

This is how academia has always felt. Add that when one of us gets anything, they all yell DEI.

That's cool. So we can't get the presidents tax return but that dude can have mine (and all of us)? Yea that's cool.

For those who still don't believe what this war on DEI really is about, ask yourself: *why THEY never complain DEI at the NFL even though more than half the players are Black but only 9 head coaches are. Maybe it was never about merit. (1/4) www.statista.com/statistics/1....

Y’all they cancelled the NSF MPS Ascend Program after encouraging underrepresented folks to only apply to it and not both the Ascend and the MSPRF. This is astronomically fucked up for many grad students and postdocs of color in math. #MathSky

I am mostly a positive person and on times like this, I focus on the things around my community that I can change and the people around me I can educate. But this morning, there is a bit of: what if good does not always win in the long run? what if this is it?

*He* becomes president again. Liberals: mixture of debilitating fear and outrage at everything he does. Black women: we just gonna go to school And TikTok university is born. Another reason why Black women are my guiding star.

"This country will now be based on merit" says one of the most unqualified people to ever hold the office of the president. Also, this non native speaker does not believe that sentenc makes sense... even if I know what he wanted to say.

Dear Black people, American fascism is a white people problem. We are at risk obviously I'm not saying none of it matters. But white people need to fix themselves. We don't have to fix a thing. Day 2 of 1461 days of remembering that Black self and community care is resistance.

This episode made me think about the stories we, as a collective, tell ourselves. Yt liberal women who feel so helpless now have only been told the story of American execptionalism. But Black women (and us brown immigrants) know of the ups and down of life. dts.podtrac.com/redirect.mp3...

One of the things we are going to lose as Twitter disappears is the history of #BLACKandSTEM, the original hashtag for Black scientists to find each other, created in 2014 by Dr. Stephani Page. Page later said that to be Black and STEM is to do science *and* social justice. #BlackSky 🧪
