I will never stop being shocked by the audacity of USians. Shared a burlesque video in which I popped a pastie, and ripped the other one off. US based performer rolls up to tell me that I shouldn’t do that because of laws THEY have but also said “maybe laws in Canada are different” YOU THINK?!

The unique Thunder Bay experience of trying to figure out if someone saying “look at you go, you look great” when they see you on a bike is because of the unhinged car culture here, or patronizing fatphobia.

I am not a fan of Carney. I’m also not a Liberal. While we narrowly avoided something worse, this also doesn’t feel celebratory to me. Except for PP losing his seat. That’s frigging glorious.

Posting this everywhere because I am so proud of myself. Haven’t touched a pole in 2 years, and was surprised I managed this invert in my first ever aerial silks class! Anxiety, hyper mobility, poor sense of proprioception mean I struggle with a lot of new physical tasks. But I don’t let it stop me

Michelle Williams is obviously a superstar, but also Jenny Slate is absolutely mind blowing in Dying for Sex. It’s a career high for her for sure. Right up there with Obvious Child as one of my favourites of her performances.

ADHD life: “time to wind down for bed!” Proceed to start a load of laundry, fold laundry that’s been waiting for like 2 weeks, clear and organize bedside table, research sewing tips for a costume, spend 20 minutes picking something to read on my Kobo, give up and scroll on phone….do not wind down.

How to tell I’m about to start performing publicly again? Makeup.

A spread of makeup on a table with a black and white striped Sephora bad behind it. There are eyelashes, eyelash glue, two eyeliners, mascara, setting spray, moisturizer, dry shampoo and a beauty blender, all from a mix of brands.

I set myself some goals in 2025 related to dance and performing. I’ve started a new training certification, am working with a circus coach on my flexibility, and now, I’m adding hoop to my skill set! New shinies to hopefully include in my stage acts!

A close up of two hula hoops on a blue couch. One hoop is large and thick, wrapped diagonally with holographic and black tapes. The other hoop is smaller and thinner in a fushia colour.

lol. USians mad about Trudeau saying Donald because “it’s disrespectful not to use his title” is legitimately the funniest thing I’ve read in a while. He’s referred to our prime minister as governor for MONTHS. Die mad about it.

It’s slightly above freezing, which means for the first time since November the top floor of my not-so-well-insulated century home doesn’t feel like walking into a freezer. I might have to use only 3 or 4 blankets on the bed instead of 5!

Netflix making it seem like I have a choice “accepting” the price increase and then sending me an email thanking me for doing so even though clicking accept was literally the only option was so gross. We’ve been talking about cancelling and I think this is the final straw.

This sale is still going on until the end of the month! I really appreciate everyone who has bought something so far. It’s been a tough month with all these costs coming at the same time, as well as work being slow.

The Ontario leaders debate on Northern Issues being in the middle of the day on a Friday tells you a lot about how much they actually care about northern Ontario. Also I will never stop loling that every “northern Ontario” thing is held in North Bay. They’re too afraid to actually come up north.

Can we talk about how fun these metallic watercolours look in my hobonichi? I’ve had this set since 2020 but rarely use it because I couldn’t figure out how I wanted to use it…but now I know I’m going to use it my planner. So shiny.

Swatches of metallic watercolours in a grid notebook. They are very shiny and reflective. On the right the colours are light yellows, golds and pinks. On the left are purples, blues and greens.

lol. So we went and got a new TV. And I have to return it tomorrow. The saga continues! It doesn’t play nice with our Apple TV, and has awful judder. RIP my old 1080p tv that gave me no problems. I had to comb through a bunch of highly technical reviews to find a compatible TV.

I attempted to de-stress by doing an art. First time using watercolour in my Hobonichi. Been playing I Was A Teenage Exocolonist non-stop and could talk about it forever.

The right side of an A5 hobonichi open. It has a water colour depiction of a Nintendo switch with pink and blue joy cons. The screen shows a water colour landscape in yellows and fusia with a black ink sketch of a crashed spaceship.

Above the hobonichi is the actual matching Nintendo switch showing the loading screen for the game I Was A Teenage Exocolonist.

At 4am our floor to ceiling cat tree fell down with Kristoff on it. Most importantly, Kristoff appears to be fine. Annoyed, but fine. Our tv, however, is not. I now need to fix my car, pay for my autism assessment, AND buy a new tv. But I’m so grateful this floof is okay.

A close up portrait of Kristoff, a flame point ragdoll cat. He is orange and white with blue eyes. The camera is angled down so his face is emphasized and he is sitting on a table with wintery tablecloth and a red runner.

I did the thing. Went for a walk for my mental health, got myself this silly little treat. I think it’s a game designer trait to buy rule books just to read.

I got a bang trim so I can see again, and chatting with my stylist made me realize that I really am known for trying to get as much volume as possible in my hair. But I mean look how cute it is! And this after I had to smush it down in a toque!

I think the best gift you can give a game designer this season is just telling them you like their work. When some is enthusiastic about a game I’ve made it honestly makes me feel all warm and gooey inside (also awkward, because I’m awkward and compliments are weird).
