For those who don’t know, I have an annual tradition at the end of the year where I review all of the art I’ve made that year. Kind of like The Game Awards, but with art, and with “Worst” categories. I didn’t do this last year though, because last year was a dumpster fire.

A design listing my favourite art piece that I’ve done this year, which is of Claude and Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses standing back-to-back with their respective weapons.

The text is as follows:
Piece I’m Most Proud Of, aka the Art of the Year.

“Honestly, out of all of the art I’ve drawn this year, this is the one that I’m most proud of. It took me quite a while, and I’m just so happy with how it came out. Not to mention the fact that it represents my preference to the Golden Deer route.”

A design listing my favourite Xenoblade Chronicles art piece that I’ve done this year, which is of Melia posing in front of a red and purple starry background with her staff in both hands.

The text is as follows:
Best Xeno Piece

“I had a hard time deciding between this or the Bellflower Nia Remake. I ended up choosing this because I just love the pink and purple starry background, as well as the dynamic pose. And plus, Bellflower Nia was a remake so it was kind of a given that it would turn out well in comparison to the original piece.”

A design listing my least favourite non-Xenoblade art piece that I’ve done this year, which is of Frieren looking upwards to her right. It was inspired by the Frieren Hard Angle Challenge.

The text is as follows:
Worst Non-Xeno Piece

“It’s no shock that this found its way here. I wouldn’t even really classify this as a fully-fledged piece, just great practice. But I can confirm with the rest of the internet: this angle is hard to draw. Maybe I can remake this when my perspective skills improve.”

A design listing my least favourite Xenoblade art piece that I’ve done this year, which is of Melia posing smugly with a red and purple outfit.

The text is as follows:
Worst Xeno Piece

“Everything about this is great…except for the colour scheme. That’s not the remake’s fault though; the original piece had a red and purple outfit too. According to Google, this combo CAN work, but it’s too bold in my opinion. I’m saddened to admit that I think it ruins an otherwise great remake.”

My last piece of the year is the winner of the BlueSky art raffle: Panne! #art

A digital illustration of Panne from Fire Emblem Awakening. This piece’s main purpose is to illustrate the point in which Panne transforms into her beast form, as indicated by the subtle blurred duplication of the Lineart and rabbit silhouette in the background, along with the shimmer effects.

2 years ago today, I drew this Commander of YoRHa. Watching the NieR Automata anime back then made me want to draw her. Overall, I still like how it looks, though I’m not sure about the proportions and perspective. It also could’ve benefited from more colour. #art

A digital illustration of the Commander of YoRHa from NieR Automata.

She is half-sitting on a chair with her legs crossed. She is inside the space Bunker next to a large window overlooking the Earth. She has a stern expression on her face.

Sorry if you’ve seen me post and delete things multiple times, but I’m trying to get this into my #art feed because the hashtag was mistyped. Even if this doesn’t work, I’m leaving this post up.

4 years ago today, I drew this festive piece! It got slept on back then which was such a shame because I love how it came out. It aged well too, apart from the hair being rather stripey. Also it came with a cute pun for a title which I can’t say for spoiler reasons 😭 #artl

A digital illustration of a “female character” from Xenoblade Chronicles X. She is wearing a festive elf outfit and sitting on the edge of Santa’s sleigh with her legs crossed. Behind her is Santa’s sack of presents, with a hidden Tatsu wearing a Santa hat. The background is a starry night sky with a massive moon designed to spotlight the main subjects in this piece.

3 years ago today, my OC-sona “Alice” officially made her debut!! Her design has come along way, and I definitely prefer her with cat ears. I wouldn’t mind tweaking her design, as it’s rather simple. But I’m not quite sure what I could do. Maybe more bows? I love bows. #art

A digital illustration of my OC Alice. She is posing in front of a lavender background with darker purple flecks.

Starting from the top left corner and going counterclockwise, the writing reads:
“Hazel green eyes that can’t see for shite without contact lenses.”
“VERY thick curly brown hair that’s greying.”
“I love wearing Melia-esque shirts with transparent bits.”
“Shy af.”
“Black leggings ftw. It’s all I wear.”

4 years ago today, I drew this Tyrea as part of a Tumblr Secret Santa gift. They requested that I give Tyrea some leggings, and honestly they look great on her. I should draw Tyrea again at some point. I love Secret Santa art exchanges! #art

A digital illustration of Tyrea from Xenoblade Chronicles. She is glaring at the viewer while holding her weapons. Instead of her usual leotard, she was given a shirt with some leggings. They are maroon with bright purple crystalline accents. She is in front of a dark green background. This background is bordered with brambles and shards to symbolise her personality.

3 years ago today, I drew this festive “Men! Of! The Sea!” piece! I still love it. It makes me want to see a short story or animation of these three getting into pirate shenanigans. Begs the question: Which ship will they use? The Yggdrasil? The Thames? Or Colony 15? #art

A digital crossover illustration of Bart Fatima and “The Captain” from Xenogears, and Triton from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. They are on a ship at sea while wearing Santa-inspired outfits. Bart and Triton are enjoying alcohol in metallic wine glasses, while The Captain is holding a beer bottle. They are all lightly flushed due to their inebriated states. It is gently snowing.

I found what I consider “my first Xenoblade drawing”.

A traditional drawing of the Monado from Xenoblade Chronicles. It is in the grass in front of a sunset, with the kanji Monado Arts surrounding it. The title of the piece is “This is the Monado’s Power.” And it is dated July 25th, 2015.

My first art raffle in a while! Thank you again for 300 followers! I’m also thinking that the winning character can be put in a Santa outfit too, just because I don’t have a festive drawing lined up. #artraffle

A flyer celebrating the fact that I now have 300 followers. There is a list of rules, accompanied by art I drew of Melia and Bellflower Nia.

The text is as follows:

BlueSky Exclusive Art Raffle
“Thank you for 300 followers!!”
- To enter, comment the fan character you want to see me draw.
- You must be following me. Please don’t follow just for the sake of the raffle!
- Reposts are greatly appreciated, but bear in mind that reposts alone will not count as an entry!

Preferred Franchises:
- Xenoblade/Xenogears/Xenosaga
- Fire Emblem
- Zelda
- Persona

However, I can draw characters from other games or animes. It doesn’t have to be waifus, I can draw husbandos too!

Raffle ends December 18, 2025. Good luck!

4 years ago, I drew this Fiora! While the eyes and hair aren’t exactly the best and the shadows need to be darker, the pose absolutely hits hard. Definitely screams “Fiora”! I would remake this but there’s not much point if the pose is the selling point. #art

A digital illustration of Fiora from Xenoblade Chronicles. She is posing sassily with her right knee bent forward and her right hand up and pointing. She has a smug expression. She is in front of a plain green background bordered with sparkles and bubbles.

2 years ago today, I drew this Eunie! It was based off of a One-Palette art challenge I saw on Instagram. I plan to do more of these in the future! This palette turned it into something rather melancholy due to the desaturated red. Hopefully I get bright colours next time! #art

A digital illustration of Eunie from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is sitting on a grassy hill covered in red and white flowers. The illustration has an intentionally-limited art palette consisting of red, white, tan, black, and green; with blending enabled. This particular palette meant that Eunie was the best character for the challenge. This also meant that the sky was given a bleak greyish red colour as an attempt at a faded sunset. This gives the illustration an unintended sombre look.

Dreamt there was a Direct. I remember this Japanese game quality guy expressing displeasure with the current trend of games. (I can kinda see why with enshittification/AI) But on the plus side, we got a third story expansion to Xenoblade 3. Again, I can see why for a Switch 2 showcasing.

4 years ago today, I drew this Pyra and Mythra. It was an anniversary piece, and it was obviously based off the soundtrack art. So I feel like any positive thing I say about this should be more directed at the actual reference art (i.e, I like how symmetrical it is) #art

An illustration of Mythra and Pyra from Xenoblade Chronicles 2. It was drawn for XC2’s fourth anniversary, and is based on the artwork of the game’s soundtrack. This depicts Pyra and Mythra facing each other in a relatively symmetrical way, with the Aegis core floating above their hands. With this in addition to the dark starry background, this piece has an ethereal and divine feel.

So I want to keep drawing (obviously!) but I’m a little bored of my current formula of “pick a pose and draw a character“. What could I do to vary things up? Or am I actually burnt out and don’t realise it? 💀

Three years ago today, I drew this Queen of Agnus! This was one of my favourite 2023 pieces and that still remains. Genuinely, I think the only issue is the lack of defining shadows but that’s only a nitpick. I love the pose, rendering, and even the background. #art

A digital illustration of Queen Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. She is posing with her back to the viewer and looking back over her shoulder. She is in front of a purple background that has a glittery particle effect to mimic the snowy area in which she sleeps.

Two years ago, I drew this piece of Fei and Elly. This is still such a cute picture, and I love how it came out. I think my only gripe is that the window is crooked, and looks drawn on the wall (haha) #art

A digital illustration of the characters Fei Fong Wong and Elehayym "Elly" Van Houten from Xenogears. Fei is affectionately lying on top of Elly and gazing at her. Elly is relaxing contentedly with her eyes closed on the bed, which has a purple sheet, blanket, and pillow. The bed is surrounded by translucent purple spotted curtains. The sun is shining on Fei and Elly through the nearby window. The wall has a marble texture.

Artists! Please show your: ✨ first artwork of 2025 ✨ favourite piece of the year ✨ most popular 2025 piece ✨ most recent artwork

First artwork of 2025 was a digital illustration of Elma from Xenoblade Chronicles X, celebrating the release of the Definitive Edition. Elma is posing with her Dual Guns in front of a blurred natural background. She is defiantly smiling at the camera/observer.

My favourite piece of 2025 depicts Claude and F!Byleth from Fire Emblem Three Houses. Claude is readying his bow Failnaught and Byleth is holding up the Sword of the Creator. They are in front of a blurred natural background containing mountains.

My most popular art piece was of the Bellflower variant of Blade Nia from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, receiving over 400 likes on Twitter. She is smiling calmly while sitting amongst a field of purple and blue bellflowers. She is holding a couple of them in her palms.

My most recent art was of Frieren, specifically my own rendition of the recent Hard Angle meme going around. This meme was inspired by an artist’s depiction of Frieren looking upwards to the left, causing thousands of other artists to challenge themselves with the same pose.

Four years ago today, I drew this Lin in a kimono. Back then I was disheartened that this got slept on (especially when I made the post with a silly ”Linono” pun). But now, I get why. It desperately needs a remake; maybe even with DE Lin. At least the kimono is cute. #art

A digital fanart illustration of the character Eunie from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The illustration depicts Eunie in a casual kneeling position with her left arm draped over her leg. Her hair is longer than usual. She is in front of a purple textured background with purple swirls.
