This year’s vague target of non-academic or overtly theological books achieved. I read in intense bursts outside of term. This morning’s is a beauty.

Going to start moving over here properly I think. A very deep joy to celebrate at St Mary and St John this morning, it is such a special place. I love chaplaincy but there is nothing like a parish church on a Sunday morning.

The view out of the door into the churchyard.

Linocutting worship in chapel today. Made a stained-glass window inspired side-eye angel. Such a fun job.

Margery Kempe today. Following childbirth she was attacked by demons, commanding her to abandon her faith, friends, and family and encouraging her to take her own life. Many of us know those demons intimately - prayers for you today. Keep on going. Holy Margery, pray for us.

Going to try and post more on here, still find it hard to have two places I think! Anyway it’s a rainy 5th week morning, a bit glum, but we have a welfare walk later and Evensong tonight. Going to try and look at the PhD a bit this morning.

My ADHD “time blindness” manifests in chronic earlyness. Genuinely thought it would take 10 mins to walk a couple of hundred metres down the road. At least there’s sun to wait in!

Today is my “admin day” so I really need to tackle my emails. So far I’ve had breakfast with some students and said MP. I have my pastoral supervision session later, which is still a new thing for me, and which I don’t really get yet. Other ppl that have them, how do you get the most from them?

On St Luke’s day I pray for medics worldwide, for those training for the profession here, for those in the bombed hospital in Gaza, for strength against the horror and for their kindness and compassion. This is not retaliation against rockets, it is indefensible. Lord, have mercy.

Such a lovely little lift when someone emails to ask for a copy of your sermon 😊

It’s a stand-over-the-radiator-and-send-emails-from-phone kind of a morning. Glad of my quilted waistcoat. Prayers for whatever the day holds. Trying to hold the heaviness of the world in my heart for a bit.

I’m wearing a quilted waistcoat with pictures of the BVM on it.

Ran out of cups and chairs and cookies at the new Friday afternoon craft session. I love having a full office. One of them drew me this bat 🦇

A drawing of a bat with a quote from job 3:5-6 by it.

(Optional) freshers meetings today. Got my supplies ready 😊 Love meeting our new community, and how open they are about what’s going on for them.

A tub of sweets and chocolates with prayer cards and meditation cards next to them.

Trying to move more over here (might just delete the other one completely). Anyway, it’s freshers week which is always exciting and the term cards have gone out. Praying for a wonderful and challenging term ahead.
