ofc the brain chip guy hates changing your gender - i'm sure the chip would do automatic conversion therapy if he could get it to stop killing its subjects

it's really most obvious when you are currently making your case and the response is "make your case and come back to us". pure & obvious deferral

tbh it looks super pathetic... speed run to proving you have no value in the workplace that couldn't be automated with off the shelf tools in a few hours

transphobia now exclusively means "mistaken for trans" to cis people

alice @aliceis.online · 28/03/2025

existing as a trans person will get you harassed for anything & everything. a total stranger with no idea of your personal background or story is comfortable embarrassing themselves in public to call you slurs. nobody really believes it either when you say you were screamed at in the cereal aisle.

their site does include multiple people's info - photocopied passport, intake form, patient summary, pathology report. might be possible to get confirmation from the individuals named in the leaked photos

this was so upsetting for me when i started working in tech; the "adults in the room" are always just beginners with communication skills who convince the person paying the bills they can build every little thought AI only furthers the problem by making it easier than copying from Stack Overflow

its a democracy; strategising, planning & executing bratty power plays

I shot these photos across three rolls of Portra 400 (2x) and Fuji 200 (1x). My tips for anyone protesting is a) leave your phone (and any smart devices) at home or turn it off b) don't forget your sunscreen like me c) bring more than two rolls of film 🙃 Thanks for reading this far! 💕

It's important to remember that you are not alone. Trans people have always existed and will always exist, no matter what laws pass or bigots take government. Spending time in community shows you the power of love, acceptance and rightful anger. I got sunburnt 😅 but it was worth it!

alice sits cross legged on an oversized yellow bench in the very bright sun. she closes her eyes and sticks her tongue out.

The irony in protesting the police while surrounded on all sides by them was not lost on anyone present. I felt deeply unsure whether to feel protected against potential counter protesters or scared of officers whom I overheard asking their senior officers to move protesters and shut down speakers.

protestors carrying a big trans flag pour onto King St. two mounted (on horse) police supervise to the right. A police car is in front of everyone with a looping message saying "Special Police Operation"

While some Police officers appeared to over-exert their authority over the lawful assembly, most lurked a distance away from the rally. I spotted one officer doing circle laps on a bicycle behind the final spot of the rally. But all this didn't stop protesters & bystanders from expressing support.

in the centre of the frame, someone wearing bisexual flag earrings and a tshirt adorned with pride colours throws their hands in solidarity out of the window of their car.

in the left of the frame, a person wears what appears to be a red keffiyeh on their shoulders.

A group of protesters stand flanked by armed police in high vis vests to the left of the frame. To the centre left is a young person wearing a blue keffiyeh on their head, facing the camera. Other protesters face the right of the frame, focused on the rally in front of them.

A speaker speaks passionately into the mic about police interference while surrounded by speakers who told stories about their victimisation & mistreatment by immigration, law enforcement & prison officers. To the left of the frame is a sign reading "Stop police attacks on queers, women and blacks.
Queers say treaty now
Cops out of Mardi Gras" held by a few people.

I expected counter protestors but the most I saw was individuals shouting aimlessly at the rally. The police however, attempted to hurry along & shut speeches & the rally down prematurely. No doubt upset by chants of "Bottoms & Tops, we all hate cops!" A few individual officers tried to intervene.

Beyond the large trans flag, standing in the street in front of the University of Sydney, two officers ask rally organisers to stop an ongoing speech about Dutton & the Liberal-National coalition party.

An officer in a high vis vest, wearing a helmet & bike shorts rides a bike marked "Police". stopping by the side of the protest. The Mardi Gras Fair happens in the park in the background. Another officer speaks to protestors just out of frame.

A line of police officers wearing high vis vests forms a wall keeping protesters boxed in. Two of the four officers look almost directly in the frame, their attention seemingly focused on the photographer and not the crowd.

To the left of the frame, a trans flag is held up by many while a speech happens in the background.

In the centre of the frame, a large trans flag is held by a group of people. Past the flag, a single police officer in a high vis vest approaches the speaker of an ongoing speech, seemingly attempting to prevent them from continuing.

Last week I attended a rally in Sydney to protest discrimination, trans incarceration & police presence at Mardi Gras Flanked by 20-30 armed police, we marched the left lane of King St; chanting & attracting mixed reactions from bystanders who honked or stopped to stare & film with their phones 🧵

Protesters unfurl a large trans flag to be carried by many people down King St. A hand sits in the front of the frame & a pride monument lurks just out of frame on the left side

A group of 3 men smile and film the rally as it passes, one of them throwing up a hand gesture of four fingers up with their middle finger down. A trans flag is reflected in the window behind them. A police officer looks back with concern on their face at the 3 men from the right corner of the frame

protestors march, one holding a sign reading "trans rights now". they are flanked by four police officers in yellow high vis vests. in the distance, a child and their mother looks down from above through their window

protestors march, one holding a trans flag high in the air on a pole. two police officers stand nearby in high-vis vests. a pride progress flag shows in the distance, raised high on a light fixture.

AI + offshore workers are an attractive offering for penny pitching business owners. why hire a local who could work side by side with your team when someone overseas could do it from behind a zoom call with a timezone difference for a fraction of the cost?

this is pretty much my lived experience as a software engineer. your identity is a liability where others get solidarity & group protection. your value is only your technical ability & once they're comfortable you've taught others or built all you're good for, you get thrown away in a moment

Yeah. It's always soft support for right or right-leaning politicians under the guide of "but they're great businessmen!" The amount of corporate gaslighting is insane; justifying layoffs, justifying overpriced executive salaries, justifying rejecting candidates for making their CV look some way.

I loved the writing but the gameplay was a little iffy. I found little to no use for rerolls for most of the game. The Laine chase bar was definitely was too long. Also why did we never get to work with Serafin after Hexport? Most of the crew disappear in the story after onboarding them as well...
