The ultimate problem with mass social media isn't algorithms or moderation, but the people. Until people are able to abandon the desire to perform as intellectuals for a group and focus on actually socializing, the problems with mass socmed will perpetuate. Please stop playing the socmed game.

I don't begrudge anyone for not being excited by the new Gundam teaser. That's fine! I certainly wasn't thrilled by GQux's preview! But I take umbrage with writing it off as being bad or without themes just from the trailer. It is intellectually fraudulent.

But also, aliens are like a god being an antagonist in an RPG. They're vessels for the themes and ideas of each individual story. The ELS in Gundam 00 have a specific role in the narrative and the themes of that work. There's no guarantee that THESE aliens will have the same meaning or role!

"Did they forget 00 had aliens?" No, probably not. But that show was 20 years ago; it's almost old enough to drink. I can't imagine how many young people who are into anime have a cursory knowledge of Gundam but haven't seen or know about 00. They have to sell the show to them too.

When I finally read that story, I actually thought it was amazing. A few years later, I watched as everyone fell for the EXACT same trick with Hydra Cap. People can criticize that story all they want, but it was insane watching people take everything Marvel said as gospel truth.

Every time I see someone treating FFVII Remake like God's gift to gaming I feel like a crazy person for seeing such glaring flaws in it. It doesn't feel good to be one of the few people that finds flaws in this game while the whole internet seems utterly enthralled!

Off the top of my head, Quess's Jagd Doga and Rezin Snyder's Geara Doga. The Gundam Mk 2 gets piloted by plenty of women, and in ZZ the Zeta Gundam mostly gets used by a woman. There's also the Bolinoak Sammahn, Palace Athene, Galbady B, the Psycho Gundams, Qubeley, Baund Doc...
