During the Musk v. Altman trial, Shivon Zilis said her relationship with Musk began after "kind of like, a one-off at the offset." She was asked if her relationship with Musk was important to her. She replied "sure." hardresetmedia.com/p/musk-v-altman-shivon-zilis-testimony

if history repeats itself, GOP leaders will realize they can't compel McConnell to resign and that his staff is going to (barely) cover up his poor health to keep their own jobs. So then those leaders will invent procedural reasons for why McConnell must stick around www.nytimes.com/2023/05/24/u...

Update: Fetterman is fundraising off his latest stunt. Text link goes to an ActBlue page with the unsubtle URL "donate/gop-text" secure.actblue.com/donate/gop-t... Fetterman's donors are already mostly conservative (and wealthy). Seems to be making a play for other rank-and-file MAGA donors

with respect to the New York Times, I don't think John Fetterman embarrassing himself with a prerecorded speech at an empty convention is a "boon for Mr. Trump" www.nytimes.com/2026/09/09/u...

My rabbit hole for the day: FanDuel just started promoting an "everywhere" app so people in states w/o sportsbooks sign up and bet via DFS + prediction markets. The "new" app launched on same day Bill Simmons got in trouble for proxy betting. So now this Ringer promo reads like a (bad) inside joke

This photo of John Fetterman on Martha's Vineyard is going around; a source sent it my way. Seems he's there for a moderated discussion about "the future of U.S. support for Israel" (H/T to Ethan Genter, a news editor at the Vineyard Gazette, who posted about the event on X)

I pitched around a story about Rasner's TikTok "bid," but was scooped by John Hult at South Dakota Searchlight. They published a thorough investigation, including a hilarious response from Rasner southdakotasearchlight.com/2025/06/17/m...

I see Reid Rasner ran for office again, this time for Wyoming's House seat. A fascinating character who has made some...dubious claims during his (attempted) political career. A brief thread:

I've already seen a half-dozen headlines from reputable outlets characterizing this statement as "Mitch McConnell said..." I realize I'm being a stickler, but: There's no evidence McConnell said, wrote, or approved this statement. It should be attributed to his staff. It's an important distinction!

Dunno what El-Sayed previously charged for speeches, but having reported on these unaffiliated celebrity booking sites, I can tell you the fees are almost always inaccurate, bio details are scraped from elsewhere, and talent/their agents don't know they're even listed. Silly barb from Stevens flack

Aron D'Souza told me that he refunded the "few dozen" people who paid a fee to file an Objection, b/c journalists didn't want to participate in the arbitration process, so it was "pointless." The "few dozen" who were refunded were "some of the wealthiest people in the world," D'Souza claims.

Meta also says the plaintiffs didn't offer sufficient evidence to support their claim that AI tools targeted vulnerable workers for layoffs. Interesting wording here: "The question is not whether Meta used technology in its RIF process; the question is whether Meta’s process violated the law."

Meta further complains that if an emergency injunction is granted—meaning the workers continue to receive benefits, etc, and the case proceeds—then the workers should have to submit a security bond of "at least $10 million." Meta claims this is because some plaintiffs' RSUs will vest

refreshing my memory: Here's "Dianne Feinstein's" statement from March '23. Took her 2 more months to return to Senate, at which point NYT reported on complications she had suffered from shingles. She spent summer needing significant help casting votes, made "statements" via her staff, died Sept '23

GOP Senate leaders taking a page from Nancy Pelosi and Alex Padilla, who offered similarly vague, obfuscatory statements about Dianne Feinstein shortly before she died. We have reached the "insulting our intelligence" phase of Mitch McConnell's weeks-long hospitalization.

Not sourced on this story like Clay Travis and Dave Portnoy, but I’m skeptical of superfluous reports describing Lutnick, Andrew Giuliani and a “team of elite lawyers” like they’re SEAL Team Six. FIFA made up a peace prize for Trump last year; I’m not sure it needed much arm-twisting

I'm seeing a lot of "he's going to leave the Democratic Party" takes, and I don't think that's true. Basically every source I've talked to doesn't think he'll leave, in large part b/c it's a pain in the ass to go independent or flip parties. Also this:
