Okay okay okay, I'm sorry, calm down. I never I liked him either. ✋️😨🤚 But I do see potential with him. My favorite interpretation leans more into the bother side of his character, where he knew Thomas personally and acts as a guardian spirit after he crashes. That's my story for him in my AU.

Seeing Luci's bio gave me the idea for something... what if the player chooses to accept Luci's love and choose to become just as obsessed as him? In the end, when he realizes what you've become, like Flowey in UnderTale, he gets scared. "...What’s this... Feeling? ...Why am I... Shaking?"

Congradulations and happy birthday! I find it hilarious that this post confirms that we're not only the same age, but I'm also older by a year and 15 days. Small world, huh?

I'd actually like to hear more about art history thanks to this. Yeah, the butt is nice and all, but remembering why artists draw and what they do it for is super insightful. I'd love to see the next lecture about how every artist puts a bit of themselves in their work if I were the students.

This is something I remember hearing about DK64. Rareware knew about the lag in some sections, but since they couldn't really fix it, they opted to just speed up the game to give the illusion that there wasn't lag. It worked, but nowadays, modern rereleases, it results in issues like this.

After thinking about it while I wrote this thread, I'll watch the rest of the video, see how I feel about it, and then go from there... like I should have done instead of making a BlueSky thread about my internal monolog, but I'm an extrovert with ADHD, what else can I say? (10/10 END)

010

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

For the record, I only pinged them both here because they're my friends, and I think you should check out each of their work. It's all fantastic. Also, if either of them are reading this, your work on NU or otherwise inspired me to get to where I am now, and I'm still eternally grateful for it.(9/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Maybe I'm just holding a needless grudge here for drama that doesn't even concern me. Besides, Devy and Yuri both moved on from that drama a long time ago. Who am I to bring them back into it because of my own personal internal conflict? (8/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Not to mention that I've seen JaizKoys' "apologies" in the past, I even wrote a whole thread on the last one I saw on this very account! How am I to believe that his latest one was any different? Sure he headed the NU to someone better suited for it, but I don't know, I still don't trust him. (7/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Because as an artist myself I know we always put a piece of ourselves in our work, all of our work, and sometimes it's extremely difficult to ignore that piece, especially when we knew the creator's wrong doings and how it affected others first hand. (6/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

And supporting anything related to the very project that caused both of them so much pain in the past feels extremely wrong, like I'm rebelling against my own morals. Yes, yes, I know, separate the art from the artist and all that. That's just always been hard for me to do with the NU... (5/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

On the other hand, the stuff that happened to Yuri, as well as @notsodevy.bsky.social, another former NU teammate, and more importantly another friend of mine, is a large part of the reason I stopped supporting Jaiz's games and NU as a whole... (4/?)

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

I especially want to shout out @yuriharu567.bsky.social, who used to be the Tails/Cream/Rosey VA for that series and even did work on the FNAS series for a little bit! You should really check them out, they're an amazing voice actor and artist, but this also leads me into my other point. (3/?)

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

On the one hand, like I said, I used to love The Nightmare Universe, and there's still plenty of stuff that I look back on fondly, such as Nightmare Shorts Ep. 3. Plus, a lot of voice acting is a large part of the reason I became a voice actor myself! (2/?)

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 28/08/2026

Warning: This is a bit of thread here but bare with me please. So I'm just now watching this video, and it does make me curious to check The Nightmare Universe Prime as someone who USED TO BE a huge fan of the original series. That being said, I am extremely conflicted. (1/?) youtu.be/OuYpSL30aqo

Also, to be completely fair, the series isn't out yet. This is just first impressions, so it'll be a lot better when I actually watch it. Who's to say? As of right now though, it's like a mishmash of AEG's kiddy nature mixed with the realistic train behaviors of the CGi series plus BWBA's gesturing.

000

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Despite all of that being, there are some things I like about it. As a massive fan of her character, I love how prominent Rosie is. The environments are super beautiful, and say what you will about the engines themselves, but the humans look fantastic!

100

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Okay, I've actually seen the trailer, and NOW I'm nervous about the 2026 series. It feels like it's still dumbing things down for kids in the same vein as AEG, the designs are still a bit off, and they've still got that Cars esc gesturing going on. youtu.be/gI2ddjpDaM4

Fair enough, fair enough. Admittedly, I did like the faces on a lot of the AEG designs.

000

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Agreed. Sure, those designs had their faults as well, and I wish there were more details to make them more in line with real trains, but if I really wanted that, I can just go to the Hybrid series.

010

💛 Flare Brush 💛 @alexrun902.bsky.social · 20/08/2026

Percy definitely looks the most off, yeah. I hate how, in this screenshot, especially his face looks like it's the wrong perspective compared to the rest of the shot. That being said, I'd still take these over All Engines Go designs because they at least look like real engines again.
