I hit 500 Followers over on Kick! I took a chance with the platform about 20 months ago and it has since been an amazing outlet for me to share my love of retro games. Growth might not be blazing fast, but it has been steady and very organic for me. The people I've met there are amazing too.

010

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

Do I think there is someone at Twitch just holding my channel back from being recommended and growing? No However, it's very frustrating looking at everything and just seeing data that makes no sense to me. Subscriptions have remained stable. Other platforms see growth. Twitch just dried up.

010

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

Even my Ad Rev is halved with similar CCVs and exact same amount of ads being played (and similar uptime) between 2023 and 2024. Granted, Ad Rev varies a lot year by year, but this is pretty excessive variance.

110

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

I'd also use my bot to compare the viewership I have reported by Twitch compared to active connected chatters. For a while, it was looking like a 30% Viewer to Chatter Ratio, even when ignoring bots like CommanderRoot, this is a pretty extreme ratio that made little sense.

100

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

These are 2 Breakdowns for my impressions from Before the Streak Ending and After the Streak Ending. Both with a similar amount of days presented. My impressions are up significantly in present day (37k vs 50k), but it hasn't translated to any growth. I've mostly shrunk or remained stagnant.

100

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

Also worth noting with the graph above, that I apparently gained nearly 2000 followers according to Twitch in 2024. That just doesn't add up at all. I'm at a net gain of around 40 that entire year.

100

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

Every time I hit 13,980ish Followers, I get knocked down to 13,960 for about a year now. The image is from July 23' to Today. In July '23, I ended a 2300 Day Streaming Streak. That's when things stalled out Note: I had 1 small follow bot attack. Bots were removed fairly quick as you can see

100

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

It's going to be a few graphs and observations I've made the last 18+ months. I'm not looking for some conspiracy with big Twitch holding me down. It's just a point of confusion with me, just trying to get things on track. It's also a good look at how I try and make sense of analytics

100

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 15/01/2025

One of the most frustrating things to me on Twitch right now is how I feel like my channel has hit some wall of stagnation. Let me explain and sorry if this seems unhinged.

120

000

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 10/12/2024

Are there any changes to clips, or are those staying up indefinitely?

000

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

The ending was terrible. It sets up a cool premise but really devalued the movie as a whole.

010

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

It has taken over 1000 videos and many years, but I've finally crossed 100,000 Views on YouTube. Tower Unite and super low budget horror games on Itch aren't the most attractive things for wider viewership, but dammit they're fun!

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 09/12/2024

Forgot to post this big elaborate schedule here! Today are my final streams on Twitch/Kick for over a week. I'm leaving on a trip tomorrow. I'll be coming on Twitch a few times at random for some shorter streams while I'm away. Kick Resumes December 20 @ 7:30AM Twitch Resumes December 21 @ 1AM

Attack of the Killer Donuts is probably the best awful movie I've seen in a long time. If you like strange & unrealistic characters, bad CGI, occasional slapstick & donuts, check out this film. It's like Birdemic and Troll 2 had a kid with Tommy Wiseau being assigned as a legal guardian.

Kick is so good to me. Ever since I started there they have been active with my channel. Front Pages, staff in chat getting my input, Eddie stopping by twice supporting me with subs and hundreds of new people. I'm a small little retro streamer. It blows my mind how much they care about my success.

080

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 20/11/2024

The thought if you being a pilot both terrifies and amuses me.

110

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 18/11/2024

You are far more forgiving to "Trap" than I am. I thought it was arguably M. Nights biggest mess to date. I typically can get behind his films, as silly as they can get. This one though I just was flabbergasted by it.

000

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

Older firmwares allow you to install Linux which is very niche and more of an oddity feature. The big benefit of old firmware is that it's easier to do a quick mod on the system which allows playing backups off the hard drive!

010

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

I wish mine still worked so badly. Lifting up that original flap and having 4 card readers and 6 USB ports for no reason was AMAZING. Is it updated, or do you have the OG Firmware on there?

110

AlexIsPlaying @alexisplaying.bsky.social · 17/11/2024

After completing "Amanda the Adventurer 2" earlier, I'm at 131 games completed in 2024. With what I have planned, I may actually finish 150 Games this year. Developers are killing it this year.
