My simple test for identifying A+ talent fast:
The Weekend Test.
I message candidates on weekends.
Not to be a jerk...
But because response time tells me everything I need to know about someone's level of obsession.
Fast response = you're in the game
Slow response = you're not obsessed enough
Simple as that.
This also applies to how we treat our customers.

imagine interviewing for a job, and then seeing this post by the recruiter on LinkedIn shortly after

I interviewed someone for a $200k job.
Here's why they DIDN'T land the job:
→ Too open to "any opportunity". They didn't seem clear on why this role/company.
→ Couldn't answer the questions with a straight answer.
→ Didn't ask thoughtful questions at the end.
→ Had no value prop.
→ Seemed to do minimal research on the role and job description provided.
Here's how to avoid these pitfalls:
→ Even if you are open to any opp, don't share that.
Instead you need to be convincing as to why THIS role at
THIS company.
→ If you don't have the direct experience, say it. But share ways you have transferable skills/experience.
Avoiding will not help you.
→ Please ask thoughtful questions. (We have a guide on interviewing the interviewer - comment below
INTERVIEW - if you want it.)
→ Be clear on how you are the right person to solve the company's problem. (ie: the reason they are hiring for the role)
→ Especially if you are pivoting industries/roles, DO YOUR RESEARCH.
