Days 2 & 3 of #600x150 are combined. Day 2 I wrote 536 words in my dinosaur vs mercenary novella. Day 3 was a self care day spent playing Metal Gear Solid Delta. Despite playing the original more times than I can count I’m really enjoying the updates graphics.

Day 1 of #600x150 I wrote 500 words in a short story for an anthology of stories set in Iowa and 281 in my novella Toxic Rex. Didn’t get much done in the novella as I wanted but it was still a successful day!

Once again my writing assistant has fallen asleep on the job leaving me to do all the work 🤣

Welp I guess I learned a lesson today. Spent around 20 minutes adding open calls from a publisher to my spreadsheet only to find out they use (at least one) A.I covers. Always do your research folks!

@briankeene.bsky.social was it Xander Harris who has an album based off Urban Gothic or was that someone else?

I just watched Day of the Dead (1985) for the first time and I have to say it was really damn good. My official ranking of the trilogy is: 1. Dawn of the Dead 2. Night of the Living Dead 3. Day of the Dead That being said they’re all in my Top ten movies of all time

Text reads "When someone attacks one party member we all roll for initiative." The image shows d20s with colours and logos to represent a variety of marginalised communities.

20 days ago I learned a publisher was looking for a 20k zombie novella. Seeing a challenge I reached out to see if they would give me 20 days to submit something for consideration. They agreed Now 20 days and 20,137 words later the novella is done! Going to edit then send it off

If your partner got turned into a block of cheese and had all the properties of a normal block of cheese would I be more disrespectful to eat them or let them go moldy?

#MandoWriMo day 6 my best day yet with 1,076 split between two projects. I guess it helps having a kitten locked in my office recovering from being spayed Day 7 went to help my mom wash her walls and move some furniture before they were painted even got 141 words squeezed in

000

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 08/11/2024

#MandoWriMo day 5 was able to get 363 words don’t. Can’t remember why I didn’t get more done. Day 6. Didn’t get anything day. Took time to processes everything and took care of Peanut post spay surgery (she’s already back to her playful happy self)

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 06/11/2024

Day 3 of #MandoWriMo was a day off to spend some quality time relaxing with the wife Day for got 617 done between two projects despite not really feeling like writing. Got a lot of other stuff done as well so over all I’m calling it a win

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 03/11/2024

While I won't be doing NaNoWriMo in November I have decided I will be doing MandoWriMo. Basically its the same thing, try to write my butt off during the month with posting my numbers each day under the #MandoWriMo. Feel free to join in with the same hashtag. Let's get some words done!

000

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 03/11/2024

Day 1 of #MandoWriMo consisted of no words as I was out of the house most of the day. Day 2 was better with 654 in my short story featuring mobsters vs zombies

Today was my first day at K & W Electric Inc. ( doing construction work). I’m burnt to a crisp, sore as hell and tired as heck. All in all it was a good day 😋

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 24/08/2023

What’s your favorite “zombie” book? ( I put zombie in quotes because I know there are many different definitions of the creature)

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 21/08/2023

Out of ALL the books I’ve bought over the years this is a first. Every third page just fell out of the book. I kind want to leave pages randomly around town for a new marketing strategy 🤣

Two things I didn’t expect to see today when I woke up 1) a duck about a foot away from me 2) Cynthia Pelayo’s book at my Barns and Noble in the *middle of nowhere* Iowa. Seeing both made my day better

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 17/08/2023

Holy shit looking for a job sucks. Anyone want to be my benefactor so I can just focus on writing 🤣

000

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 14/08/2023

Write just over 1,000 words by hand today. I’m experimenting to see if I’m more productive writing my first draft long hand before I copy it onto my laptop. Plus the hope is to use up some of notebooks I have.

Authors/writers what is your day job?

000

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 31/07/2023

Had a really good writing day. Wrote 2,205 words to finish a short story. Plan on editing it tomorrow before starting the next short as well as getting back to my novella. Gonna be a good week!

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 28/07/2023

I have two stories out for consideration right now. Here’s hoping at least one of them gets accepted!

Finally hit 100,000 words for my writing year (September 1st to August 31st) way behind where I want to be but still proud of how much I’ve gotten done in this hellscape of a year. Going to keep moving forward

Does anyone have any advice for someone looking for a professional writing job? I recently got laid off from my previous job and thought this would be a good opportunity to explore some options closer to what I really want to do.

000

Alexander C Bailey @alexfromia.bsky.social · 22/06/2023

Today was a good writing day. Hit 1,031 words in a short story and 81 words in a novella for a total of 1,114. Hoping to hit 1,500 tomorrow!

Yesterday was the first time since being furloughed during Covid that I sat down at my desk with the intention to write all day. It was a STRUGGLE, but I did get 592 words written. It’s a good start but now I need to keep it up everyday
