After 4 wonderful years at @biology.ox.ac.uk working with Sarah Knowles on house mouse gut microbiota-behaviour links, today I started a new postdoc position at @niooknaw.bsky.social with @melissahrowe.bsky.social, where we'll be looking at house sparrow reproductive tract microbiotas! Our tiny Hinksey Lake keeps delivering colour-ringed black-headed gulls :) This one ringed in eastern Poland in 2021, seen once before in Dorset last year.

Hi all! #introduction I'm Alex, and I study #microbiome - #behaviour links in wild mice as an SNSF postdoc @ U. Oxford. Did my PhD on the ecology and evolution of social interactions in bacteria, a topic I'm still very much interested in :) Looking forward to hearing about your awesome science!
