This is absolutely awful, and the province was wrong to remove the speed cameras. But, removing the cameras was a high-level policy decision and immune from negligence action www.thestar.com/news/gta/fam...

A Toronto teen struck near the site of a removed speed camera suffered a brain injury. Now his family is suing the province

Who's going to want to be a juror if they know your fellow jurors can do media interviews criticizing your position in the jury room? This can't be good for the criminal justice system.

I always try to explain to my 9-year old what the various candidates for election stand for. "We won't be able to ride to the Kingsway anymore" makes summarizing Bradford's platform pretty easy.

The province wants cities to implement infrastructure solutions rather than speed cameras and to request permission to install bike lanes. Great. Ask for permission to put in a bike lane. In the meantime, repave Parkside in cobblestone to slow drivers. The bumpiest the city can find.

Great point. You can't build housing on residential streets because homeowners complain about "neighbourhood character". You also can't build housing on main streets because it displaces popular shops.

Doug Ford would rather infrastructure changes rather than speed cameras? Great. Toronto should rip up Parkside and replace the asphalt with the bumpiest cobblestone they can find. Do this on every other street adjacent to a school. Self-enforcing speed limits.
