Washington had already attacked the edge against Seattle’s crowded fronts earlier. Here, the pull gets Drake Thomas, but it’s a game of inches: Leonard Williams nearly has the RB. If he finishes the tackle, this game could’ve been very different.

Byron Murphy has been outstanding against the run. His drop-knee technique keeps showing up, and he explodes downhill to finish the tackle. This is becoming a recurring strength, making it extremely difficult to run through the middle of Seattle’s defense.

Seattle’s rules leave a WR one-on-one with Ernest Jones out of trips. Rodney Thomas is too slow to recognize it and should be closer to the opposite hash. Mariota sees the mismatch immediately, but Jones makes a great recovery to get a hand on the ball.

Ernest Jones saves this play. He avoids getting locked onto his receiver, recognizes Mariota breaking outside and quickly triggers downhill to make the tackle. Excellent awareness and reaction to prevent a much bigger gain.

The offense continues to use play-action, intermediate routes and formations to create space for its receivers. Here, the fake handoff is executed well, with Zabel and Brady Russell pulling to sell it. JSN’s route creates space for Kupp, who starts as a blocker before releasing for a nice gain.

Nice call from Fleury. It initially looks like a screen to JSN, but the eyes on the deep threat to Barner pulls the defense. JSN then works back to Holani, who has plenty of space. Haynes and Sundell do well downfield but allow one defender through before missing blocks that could’ve sprung Holani.

Seattle kept going back to JSN until the defense finally made a mistake. He draws three defenders here, leaving Cooper Kupp wide open for the touchdown on the drive immediately after the pick-six.

Another touchdown where JSN deserves a ton of credit for the route. On the double post, Arroyo occupies the safety while JSN threatens the DB’s outside shoulder, then makes a surgical cut at the perfect moment to get open for his second TD.

Rollout to the right, with JSN threatening the fade. Once the corner commits to defending it, JSN works back toward the pylon, creating enough separation for the touchdown.

Darnold leaves the pocket here and has Holani open in the end zone for a moment. He never sees him, tries to extend the play, and it ultimately ends in a turnover on downs.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
This is where the nonexistent run game comes into play. No. 98 doesn’t even respect the run and immediately attacks Darnold. Kupp is open off the boot, but it’s a tough throw. The safer choice was to throw it away. Instead, Darnold forces it and gets picked.

Jobe has been particularly rough, allowing a TD in each of the last two games. McLaurin gets behind him for a 30-yard score here. Jobe is at his best in press, but once he loses at the line, recovery is basically impossible.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
This play shows the space between Seattle’s zones. The pass rush doesn’t have enough time to get home, making life much easier for the backup QB, who keeps getting simple reads and quick throws.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
There was some kind of rotation mistake here. I believe Spoon expected to become the RANGER, rotating to the deep safety spot. But the rest of the secondary suggests this was his mistake, leaving Terry McLaurin wide open on third down for the conversion.

Another example of Wilson bouncing outside without the explosiveness to make it work. I think Price scores a TD here, but he was on the sideline in a jacket watching it happen.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
This Price snap really highlights the difference in explosiveness. Watch how quickly he gets through the cut and turns the corner. On the same concept where Wilson lost yards, Price likely gets something out of it.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 01/10/2026
Emmanuel Wilson deserves some blame too. He bounces outside instead of hitting the inside gap created by Christian Haynes. It’s a simple read that fits his skill set much better. Wilson isn’t explosive; he’s a north-south runner.

Clear example of one of many OL mistakes. On this outside zone, Grey Zabel must reach the 1-tech. He loses the block, forcing the RB outside into the defender who beat Abe Lucas for a 4-yard loss. Not sure if Lucas expected Barner's help.

This snap might go unnoticed, but I really like what Stephens does here. He fights to establish leverage and gets into position to execute the block. That's exactly what you want from a rookie OL: strength, technique and the willingness to keep working.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
This rep is more encouraging. Stephens attempts a snatch-and-trap technique and nearly pulls it off, but gives up too much of his chest and gets pushed back. The technique is there; the execution just needs more consistency.

Stephens fails to establish contact and gets beaten by a swipe-and-rip move, but Jalen Sundell bails him out by cleaning up the play before the pressure can become an issue.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
This is a pretty ugly snap from Stephens. He gets knocked down and exposes his arm-length limitations in the process. Once the defender gets into his frame, Stephens struggles to recover.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Price runs a good route and shows off his speed, while Darnold puts the ball in a good spot. But Price shows his hands too early, giving Styles a chance to make an outstanding play on the ball.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Neal loses at the line of scrimmage and never recovers, forcing Shaheed to call for a fair catch. The bigger concern is how easily Neal gets beaten off the snap, which won't help him earn more opportunities.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Price didn't get another carry until 12:48 left in the third quarter, nearly 28 minutes after the fumble. For a first-round RB, that's a long time to watch Wilson average under two yards per carry. Price has too much potential to stay benched, but ball security has to come first.

Another poor ball-security rep. You're in the NFL now—you have to protect the football better through contact. After fumbling against Arizona, seeing it happen again two weeks later is becoming a real concern.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 30/09/2026
Price had just three carries before fumbling with 11:06 left in Q1. He opened with an 11-yard run, reading the gap well and cutting inside for a first down on one of Seattle’s few good run-blocking snaps.

Another good leverage rep from Mills, followed by an arm-over that lets him disengage quickly and make the tackle. The box score may not show much yet, but these technical improvements are encouraging for a second-year DL.
030
alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Look at the leverage here. Mills gets underneath the OL, wins the leverage battle and disengages quickly and aggressively. I didn’t expect Mills to show this kind of ability to contribute from the interior.

Lock’s best throw of the game. Another great Fleury call: 13 personnel, pistol, motion and Arroyo split out. Everything screams run, and if it’s a pass, JSN is the obvious target. Instead, Arroyo runs a great route. Lock anticipates the break and delivers into a tight window before Arroyo even cuts

My favorite Fleury call of the game. Russell motions, Zabel pulls, and Arizona bites on the run. It’s actually an end-around for Shaheed. Cross loses his block, gets in Sundell’s way and eventually runs into Stephens. Win those blocks and Shaheed has a big-play chance. That’s Fleury’s vision.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Fleury’s identity is starting to take shape. Seattle uses a lot of motion in both the run and pass game, actually building concepts off it rather than using it as window dressing. Play action is a big part of it, too. Here, Seattle fakes the handoff and gets the ball quickly behind the LBs.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Lock found JSN for an 82-yard TD on Seattle’s opening drive, attacking Arizona’s defensive rules. JSN’s initial fake pulls Budda Baker downhill, while Arroyo route and Lock’s play fake reinforce the action. Baker bites, leaving JSN behind him for the longest TD of his career.

Drake Thomas adjusts the front and tells Jarran Reed to slant, opening a lane for him to attack as a run blitzer. He may lack ideal size, but his anticipation and recognition stand out. And look at Mills’ speed getting into this play.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
This is Macdonald’s defensive identity. Murphy slants inside, Williams builds a wall, and Nwosu seals the edge. 3 great individual plays, but none work without the others. That’s the point: everyone does their job, trusting someone else will make the play.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Seattle did a very good job limiting McBride’s impact. He had 8 catches for 41 yards, his lowest total vs. a Mike Macdonald defense. Seattle didn’t constantly double him or play man. Instead, there was consistently someone in zone keeping an eye on McBride without compromising the defense.
010
alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
There are certainly things Mike Macdonald will want to clean up. The touchdown is an obvious example. Trey McBride one-on-one with Josh Jobe in the red zone is not an ideal matchup for Seattle. McBride is Arizona’s best offensive player. The Seahawks need to avoid giving him that kind of matchup.

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Shaheed’s bigger issue is as a route runner. He’s struggled to separate without relying on vertical speed. Great call by Fleury here. Lock escapes and puts the ball right on Shaheed, but he drops it. Seattle needs his explosiveness, but he has to make these plays, too.
010
alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Shaheed has looked sluggish as a returner since New England, far from last year’s explosiveness. That continued vs. Arizona, where a fumble early in the second half could’ve changed a tied game. Chazz Surratt bailed him out, returning it to ARI’s 40. And yes, Surratt was a QB at North Carolina

alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Another execution issue. Seattle uses 7OL and 2TEs, with Olu as the FB and Josh Jones as 6th OL. The idea is good, but Zabel gets tangled pulling, while Olu can’t adjust after Lucas gets pushed back. I believe the intended gap is between Olu, Zabel and the TE. Execution kills the play on 4th down.
021
alexcastrofilho.bsky.social @alexcastrofilho.bsky.social · 25/09/2026
Here’s a communication error. The OL slides right, but Holani and Sundell both block the same defender. Sundell should pick up No. 50 while Holani works into the A-gap, leaving a free path to Lock. Lock still makes a great throw under pressure, but the OL mistake is there.

This was a rough snap for the OL as a whole, but Stephens stood out again. Collier is the matchup, and Stephens finishes the rep by putting him on the ground. Good technique, mentality and, most importantly, strength. You can see why Byron Murphy highlighted that strength this week.

Okay, this one is against LJ Collier, but... Stephens initially sets outside, then reacts very quickly when Collier attacks the A-gap. He uses good leverage and lands a strong punch to neutralize him. These are the reps that show you what Stephens can become.
