Who is the best security research/pen tester you know and that I should talk to? I want to create the go-to guide for VPS security.

I've never had anything to do with the movie industry... ...but for two years I built software used by billion dollar production companies and some of the best talent agencies and producers in the world. You can just build things as an outsider. Your niche can be autism.

I noticed something weird: bad devs = bad vibe coders great devs = great vibe coders exceptional devs = horrible vibe coders

I don't have a lot of followers at all and barely even grow here, most of my tweets get like 100 impressions. I beg you to just post like once a week and reach out to people. It'll change your life. 99% of all the opportunity in the past two years came from here.

Don't have good ideas? Just ship something. A tool, a website, a real-time transcription app, a full fledged steam scraper so you and your friends can get better game recommendations than on Steam. Your ideas will get better the more you do.

Devs: you type 60-100 WPM. You speak 150-180 WPM. What's stopping you from just speaking into Cursor?

Tracking workouts sucks. Pen and paper sucks and all the apps I've tried also suck. I just want to workout while I'm in the gym and yet still have everything magically tracked...

One thing I learned from taking a long time off is that, no matter how autistic you are, you need hobbies in your life other than building stuff and you absolutely need to spend time with people who aren't builders. It will replenish creativity faster than anything else

What are your favorite tools that you think have a super fair price and respect you as a user?

Screen studio is such a nice product. You can just buy it once, get updates for a year, but own it forever.

just bought sanetools.com and will make it a simple directory for tools that respect you: 1. no subscriptions if not necessary 2. if sub is necessary, it should have a sane price 3. no shady things or dark pattern bullsh*t (sorry adobe) what else should I filter for?

I haven't coded for over two months. This is the longest I've gone without coding since I was 13 and it feels weird.

Bought new macbooks for gf and me. A while ago when we decided to take a serious break, we wiped and sold our macbooks We're starting from 0 again. She wants to be a coder and indie hacker, so technically I'll be a duopreneur from now on.

I think one of the most interesting learnings of Genie 3 + SIMA is that generalists beat specialists and it's not even close. Maybe this will also hold true for humans over the next few decades.

Ok, fk it, time to build again. After exiting my last startup, I thought I'd just take some time off and travel, but oh boy my brain doesn't shut up about building stuff. On to new shores and fresh ideas.

I'm 30, eat healthy, workout 5x a week, touch grass, go to the sauna, don't have money problems and enjoy building companies. Last week I thought I got a flu (it wasn't), had to go to ER and now have heart damage. Waiting for someone to pull off the VR glasses so I can leave a bad review.

Hailuo just casually dropped an llm with 4 MILLION token context length. You can put 30 full length novels into that context length. We're now just one OOM away from putting the whole source code of an operating system in the context window.

So, I don't get this phenomenon where companies build something great (e.g. @browsercompany @RewindAI) High usage, great pmf, even with revenue or high potential. Then they just abandon it in favor of something nobody asked for. At least make it open source when you move on...

It took almost a week, multiple support tickets and dozens of emails to fulfill a simple quota increase from 0 to 24 vCPU's in Azure. This is madness

SWE is over. Marketing is also over. All those specialized, one-sided jobs are all over. Useless in a world of specialized agents. I waited my whole life for this. What remains are ideas, principled aesthetics and technical understanding to lead. The future will be great.

A lot of people disagree, but I think @levels.io is right: real estate is dumb. In Germany, people think it's the pinnacle of investing. Unless you have your own construction company or you're a mortician you'll pay too much, spend a crap ton on taxes and waste your time.

The thing that bugs me about German bureaucracy isn't just that it's so goddamn unwieldy, it's that the people upholding are sassy assholes about it. "You have to file Document 21958 with subdocument 2845 in conjuction with document 1925? What's so hard about that? Takes maximum 2 hours." 💀

Bryan Johnson dying from anything but an accident would be such a crazy net negative for the world, since people would probably correlate everything he did with being useless - when in reality, it was only one too few nighttime erections.

It's such an MVP move to casually drop those weights to HF within OpenAI's flashy marketing week. This unlocks so many use cases for extremely sensitive industries that require fully-private on-prem intelligence. Think about your local doctor being able to run this in his office.

The whole Hawk Tuah thing is a good example of how vitally important it is whom we lend our attention. When somebody told me that the meme girl had a huge successful podcast with millions of listeners, I thought they were joking. Stop following clout. Start following value.
