What do you think folks, is this the right way to do LinkedIn? Is "ai giga slop" going to bring you any meaningful revenue whatsoever even if you can juice 250k views from it? As the gurus say... "Agree or disagree?" lmao. What a world we're living in.

The VC world amazes me: 1. “We are only funding AI agent companies that can run your customers' whole life, sorry SaaS losers” 2. ”If a founder uses their AI agent to email me, I will block them and mock them mercilessly on X. We want to get to know YOU... ” Dang am I glad to be a bootstrapper.

LinkedIn should go into the 'freelancer/consultant marketplace' business. They literally already have all the data, they know who's spammy and who's legit, and I don't want to have to go to Upwork and sift through stuff if I can just stay on LinkedIn to find people to hire for projects.

Most non-creator businesspeople just need to get content *done*. Just text a video or pic to DemandBird along with some context. That creates a draft social media post you can then schedule then and there, or review later. Better social media content, for normal businesspeople, done faster.

Yes, I cut my long hair last month. I donated it to Children With Hair Loss . Some warrior of a child is going to get a salt-and-pepper mane. This is the before vs after. It was very easy to make the donation. If you have long hair and are thinking of cutting it, try to get to 12+ inches first!

Just played the uno reverse card on a cold email from a social media management agency. Let's see if it works :) (We would only use an agency that was a customer of ours anyway obviously)

When I log in, DemandBird now tells me: • 27 comments are waiting for a reply → Open social inbox • Threads engagement is up 161% over last 30d → See analytics • You gained 492 followers across 4 platforms last 30d → See analytics • Your LinkedIn connection stopped working → Reconnect

Can we all stop asking people on LinkedIn that we don't know to "pick their brain"?? What a deeply weird metaphor... makes me think you want to take a little utensil and poke around on my grey matter. EGH! No thanks. In business, that's just called "consulting" and it's not free.

I spend HOURS a week thinking about how to make a full content pipeline feel less like a casino. Flashing lights, variable rewards, publish failures with no explanation. Social tools are exhausting by design. But I just keep talking to customers. Hearing what thehy want. And shipping!

I've opened 178 Github tickets in the last month, for just one product alone. And Mac has furiously been fixing 87.6% of them. (Half of the still-open ones were opened in the last 24 hours, tho, so we'll give Mac some time, shall we?) I'm crackling with energy to work with such a BADASS partner.

The purpose of social media is not to 'get leads'. It's to usher people along a path to changing their minds, so that they eventually take some sort of action. (Usually, that action is to make a purchase.) The higher your product or service is priced, the longer that path usually is.

Major change in policy: the US tells Anthropic they can't sell Fable to anyone. Meh... Opus has been migrating a website on its own for the last few hours and doing just fine. I hope Anthropic gets it back soon - but I'm also not losing sleep over this.

Create and repurpose content across all social platforms easily with DemandBird. (BTW, you can do this in our dashboard *or* via our MCP!) ...without having to futz with the dimensions, copy, formats, aspect ratios, and all of that. This is how fast it can be 👇

It's a MYTH that scheduling posts in advance hurts your reach. These posts were all scheduled in advance using DemandBird and they did just fine. What matters is not whether you scheduled something. It's about whether you posted great helpful content, engaged with others, have credibility, etc.

Comparing yourself to others online wrecks your mental health and distracts you from building. A habit that's helped me: notice how you're feeling mid-scroll. Catching frustration or FOMO early means you can stop before the spiral starts. This applies to Bluesky or Instagram or LinkedIn equally.

I am THIS CLOSE to blocking .info domains entirely across our portfolio of businesses. Has any .info domain, ever, been used for a legitimate B2B business? Unclear. Thus far they have been 100% spamcannon.

Another customer just bought the DESKTOP (local, not cloud) version of one of our software products. SaaS is cool, but activating a license key is somehow even cooler. No AI credit usage, not even any hosting costs. Nice.

Finished a great DemandBird customer onboarding call... the follow-up email was too good not to reuse. Summary: 1. Look at everything you've posted 2. Find the through-line 3. Refine into a core narrative 4. Post on-narrative through many angles 5. Repurpose good performing content

Sometimes I think people just want to feel like they're in The Matrix, when they say things like 'I spawned a swarm of 20 agents'. Cool. Coolcoolcool. I'm guessing Anthropic loves this and is actively encouraging this whole 'Hack Into The mAiNfRaMe' thing...

The founder of a tiny startup spent $26.8k on AI usage in 30 days. WTF! How?? And why didn't you just hire a part-time marketer before going so hog-wild on tokens? And to think that Anthropic still subsidizes usage...

From our SaaS mastermind call: "If you went to a friend's house and they offered you chocolate cake for $5, would that be weird?" "Of course" "But if you went to a bakery and they offered you $5 for a slice of cake, that wouldn't be weird at all, right?" "...I see." Charge money for your services.

It's a pure FANTASY to think you can 'automate your social media' and still be successful. These glossy AI ads make you think: click a button, poof, a robot does all your work while you make millions. It won't work.

not an exact correlation but - I've noticed a lot of 'middle class income' consultants and agency owners become SUPER obsessed with AI (e.g. they think it has emotions, taking over the world, etc). when pressed on this, they seem to reason, 'If you can't beat em join em'. I try not to judge hard :-\

Performed authenticity on LinkedIn gets hate, but is the format really the problem? Line breaks ARE readable. Declarative statements ARE clear. The style descends from oratory. Thousands of years old. It'll always feel different than Instagram. That's fine.

Build on social media. (But also build your email list.) Grow your Bluesky presence. (But also your Substack account.) Get familiar with Claude Code. (But also learn Codex.) Too much diversification is a bad thing. But so is too little. A little antifragility goes a long way.

80% of my career has been revenue generation. While I haven't had a "sales job" per se since 2015, it's a core part of my day to day. For any of our portfolio companies, if a potential customer requests to speak with sales, it's on me to respond and engage them.

Past customers signing up for DemandBird hits different. Friends saying "I'm ditching my current tool just because it's yours" or "I'm excited to use whatever you build." It feels like a decade of work actually meant something to people (not just to me). Feeling the love.

Back in the days of Aware (IYKYK!), people were just starting to become interested in LinkedIn commenting. Now, it's become orthodoxy: You frequently get just as much if not MORE exposure on social media from commenting as you do from posting.

Entrepreneur-ing is simple but difficult. 1. Work like a maniac to get an agency off the ground 2. Save & invest 40%+ income. Reduce taxes. 3. When investment yield are covers lifestyle, sell products vs services 4. Reinvest excess in the product co (Not sure what's next since I'm still at #5)

Nobody wakes up wanting to be pitched. But they want to learn. And they want helpful tools and superpowers. The difference is your intent: do you see people as humans or wallets? People feel it. We're wired to detect desperation and fakeness. Reflect on why you're here. Make sure it's genuine.

Most platforms now: → Lower baseline reach per post → Raise upside if content hits → Reward topic interest over follower loyalty LinkedIn calls it 360Brew. TikTok's always done this. Stop coasting on old wins. That 8k avg reach you got in 2021? Irrelevant now. Approach like a beginner.

If we don't know you, we can't trust you. Worry less about the perfect hook. Develop real relationships. AI prompts for content are "fine". But it's easy to get lost in vibe-everything-ing when you should be out shaking hands and supporting people in your industry.

People publish AI slop and then complain about the lack of attention span these days. Don't do that. Take responsibility for what you publish first. Then ask yourself: are you really engaged in dialogue with others, vs monologuing? Do that, then come talk to me about how people don't read anymore.
