In possession, I thought we were poor for large spells in the game, but we really upped the intensity in the last half-hour or so, in part because of the subs. Andreas, Andersen, Bassey and Berge all impressed. What an asset it is to have Sess as an option off the bench - and what a ball by Leno!

If we need to break down a low block, I'm guessing that a potentially fruitful approach is taking shots from range. How do we compare to other teams when it comes to that metric? I'm guessing not favourably, although Cairney and Iwobi's effort against Spurs and Brighton in December stand out.

I'm still yet to be fully sold on Nelson, but he's definitely had his moments. Long term, yes, I agree that Andersen and Bassey are his preferred pairing. Also, when we play with a back three/five in games where we're favourites, we need Robinson and Castagne to bomb on more than they did today.

We don't have a forward who can stretch defences. If possible, a pacey attacker who can perhaps double up as a left winger would be ideal in January, especially given Nelson's lengthy lay-off and Iwobi being a bit off it at the moment. Felt it was harsh on Diop for him to make way for ESR as well.

I was also surprised at that. Felt that Cairney should have stayed on longer as well, and expected Josh King to get some minutes. It seemed like Silva was getting a bit desperate like against Southampton, given the number of obvious formation changes following the substitutions.

A pacey forward who can play as a left winger would be ideal - we do need competition down that side with Iwobi a bit out of form and Nelson out for a while. We don't stretch teams enough who defend deep for a lot of the game (like today).

Disappointing today (although it is nice to get the late goal for the draw as opposed to what happened last weekend). Wilson my man of the match, and while Ipswich were well organised, I felt that keeping Cairney on the pitch would have given us a better chance of breaking them down in open play.

I thought that initially, but I'm OK with the selection in hindsight, as King was one of our few shining lights. The players just didn't deliver. We probably needed to rotate the strikers, although you may have preferred Jiménez in the two home games either side of Chelsea, which I sympathise with.

The loss at City in October is looking more disappointing by the week... I agree with your general point though. Really hope that when Silva does leave, it's his terms rather than the club's. He deserves backing even if any loss of form does materialise.
