Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 28/09/2026Interesting milestone. With the final batch of edited photos from China - that brings my Flickr catalogue to 32,000 images edited/uploaded since 2008 from 50+ countries and 5 continents. These are story images, portfolio images, blog images, random memory anchors and more. Fun to pause and reflect. 020
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 25/09/2026The mixture of light over the duration of this sunset made for so many great images. Catching the light and smaller details which you see in this view but which are easy to overlook. The way light adds to the experience of viewing texture rich views like this is part of why I love photography. 061

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Humbling when you realize that the small peach fuzz along the top of the cliffs are actually full sized pines. Yet another recent edit from Huangshan Mountain | China | December 2025. 060
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 21/09/2026+1 vote for democracy, integrity, science, and decency. A huge kudos to the Arizona elections team for the hard work they do - particularly when they've got so many people actively working to hinder/interfere and degrade the election process. Recent upgrades to the system have been well done. 010

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 20/09/2026The world truly is incredible. Wild to think how something like this comes into being. Also truly humbling when you start to realize the scale. China | Huangshan | December #natgeoyourshot #sonyalpha #china 180
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 18/09/2026One of the things that makes Huangshan so phenomenal and unusual is the infrastructure. Winding paths clinging to sheer cliff faces and staircase after staircase with the occasional cable car, kiosk, or hotel in the mix. 150

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 13/09/2026Brand new edit - The light and clouds for the morning I took this photo were fantastic. Wave after wave of cloud swallowed this peak and then slowly pulled free like little threads of wild cotton caught on a bur. Mt. Huangshan, China, December 2025. 072

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 08/09/2026It was floating just around 0°C, the heavy mist created a blanket deadening the sound and felt deeply calming. I found a spot out of the wind with a small shrine and settled in waiting and hoping that the sunset temperature change would clear the fog and reveal the grand view beyond. Huangshan China 020
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 06/09/2026It's such a shame where there's a useful service that is completely undermined by really disingenous and slimy marketing/commercialization. Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 30/08/2026There is such a chaotic beauty to these prayer locks, which you find at temples throughout the parks/mountains. Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 24/08/2026These sentinel trees always capture my imagination. Just picture the view they have looking out on this valley over the course of a year. Four seasons, 365 days, and constant change. I’ve got a few more final edits from Zhangjiajie, China the “avatar mountains”. Stay tuned :) 091
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 20/08/2026The true size and scale of these pillars is so challenging to convey in an image. Their unique beauty, the incredible size, and what should be wild fragility but has, to the contrary, stood resolutely against the constant erosion of time. What a place. #china #zhangjiajie 050
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 18/08/2026The change in air temperature, a bit of wood smoke from the winter night trapped in the valley, and first light bathing the spires of Zhangjiajie, China | December 2025. 020
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 15/08/2026These sunrises were pure magic. It was hard to believe the weather, despite it being December. The mornings were crisp, the nights were cold, but I was able to stay inside the park allowing for early starts and late finishes. All in one of the world’s most fascinating nature parks. #china #sonyalpha 040
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 13/08/2026The flyby | this photo of the eclipse is from the tower at Christiansborg which is home to the Danish government. Tarnet - the tower - made for a wonderful spot to enjoy the full eclipse. #denmark #tarnet 020
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Ahhh! What a night. I decided to take a risk and try and view the eclipse from the tower at the top of the Danish Parliament Christiansborg. The view lived up to and surpassed my aspirations! I love the intersection between weather and terrestrial influences and then the beauty of what lies beyond. 041
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 12/08/2026The longer you stare at these formations the more incredible details catch your eye. It’s wild how delicate they are and yet how incredibly resilient at the same time. Truly natural wonders. December, 2025 | Zhangjiajie, China 0101
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 10/08/2026Eclipse this Wednesday - question for my network. I’ll photograph it on my 50-400 and Sony RV. For obviousl reasons I don’t want to cook my sensor. I haven’t had time to buy a dedicated filter. If I keep in-frame time under 1 minute, and have an Ice 1000 ND (10 stop). Is that enough? Stacking two? 000

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 28/07/2026This would have been such a magnificent spot to go for a swim, don’t you think? If only the pool had been accessible (it definitely is not) and the water warmer (it definitely was snow melt). 0353
Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 23/07/2026The awe and wonderful beauty of natural patterns and shapes | Norway - a few minutes walk up hill behind a campground I stayed at in the far north. Fun to think that this was even further north than Selawik and Fairbanks Alaska. #norway 020

Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 16/07/2026So much going on in this photo with all the layers and textures and movement. Makes for a fun composition, right? Alex Berger @alexberger.bsky.social · 12/07/2026A bit of detail work from last night’s waterfall. Love the geology here and how it creates quite unusual waterfall formations. Forgive the lens spot, this is largely straight out of camera. #norway 071
