My ten year old just asked me if I'm old enough to have seen Rooney play for England. FFS. He was completely incredulous when I told him that yes, obviously I did. He followed it up with, "even Beckham as well!?"

Zoos have got to be the most badly planned out places to visit ever, every one I've ever been to. They just sprawl off in every direction. It would be much better if there was just a linear path you could follow where you passed every animal enclosure.

@samuelwroberts.bsky.social stumble at the start of this week's episode of @backpagepod.bsky.social is like when you suddenly become very conscious of the way you are walking, and start worrying you're walking wrong. Glorious. 😆

I've now watched each of the 'Monster' series on Netflix (Ed Gein, Lizzie Borden etc.) and they are all, each and every one of them, utter dog shit. Just terrible. Not a single redeeming quality in any of them. Nonsensical, fever-dream, garbage. Probably some of the worst TV I've ever sat through.

Has anyone ever ordered glasses online? I haven't before. I've only ever got them after an eye test at the optician. Does anyone have a strong recommendation for a site to use, as there seem to be millions of them (UK based). Thanks!

Replaying Yakuza 0 on Switch 2 (originally played it when it came to PS4). I'm normally all for playing games in the original language with subs (not that the previous Yakuza games I've played gave you any other choice) but thought I'd try the English dub this time... And it's actually decent!

Played that demo of Cairn on Switch 2. Fairly generous, easily over an hour of gameplay, more if you try different routes. I liked it. Bizarrely though, not sure I'd want another 10 hours of it, but depending on price I might pick it up. Really liked what I played, though.

Well that was the best Direct for quite some time. Monster Hunter, Cairn, Far Cry 3, Persona 4 Remake and 6, Metal Slug Collection, Kingdom Come 2 and.... METROID DREAD SEQUEL!?! Pretty strong showing. Just waiting for Red Dead 2 now lads. Come on already.

Every 'retro remake' should let you swap between old and new graphics and sound at the touch of a button. Wonder Boy 3 does it perfectly. The scanlines and old monitor emulation are done really nicely, too.

Kojima is the best writer in the history of the world and you're wrong. I mean, listen to this. The man is a genius. "A Metal Gear!" You can't write that stuff. Unless you're Kojima. And then you can.

I very rarely visit Twitter any more, but I've really enjoyed watching people become apoplectic with rage over the use of that wildfire alert yesterday. The sheer audacity of the Government to send out a warning and the amount of people so determined to ignore it along with any advice issued. Wow.

Idea to make F1 more interesting: fastest in qualifying starts at the back, slowest at the front, and so on. Drivers would have to pinky promise they'll still try their best in qualifying. If the same drivers still kept winning races you could make them tow a caravan for 2 laps out of every 20.

Just watched Toy Story 5 and genuinely, I think it's the best one in the series. Perfectly captured the loss of imagination and playing with toys and the takeover of devices without being heavy handed. And it does what they all do best in lamenting that lost childhood you'll never get back. 🥲
