Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 16/08/2026I'm not sure if it counts as a hot take if, like, Marx agreed with you, lol Also, when you said "handle" I thought it meant your @ - so I was trying to figure out which Milhouse was a maligned philosopher (I settled on the one from the Simpsons) 110
Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 07/08/2026I worry I will get in trouble for reading this top secret document... But I think it's worth the risk because the "E=mc□" is actually priceless 011

Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 08/12/2025I hate it when there's politics in my history, especially when it's the history of an emperor (the least political of persons). Woke has gone too far 0312
Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 18/06/2025This looks like an interesting idea, but may be abused by smart prompters. I first asked about the structure of philsci papers and then an example: it didn't write a full paper but wrote a very thorough (~1000 words) outline on the requested topic (which could easily be used to write a paper in GPT) 320

Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 07/05/2025This description makes me think of ternary plots/simplex plots. They're normally used for 3 variables with some constraint (often a fixed sum). For more variables/more complex relationships, maybe a contour map with multiple sets of isolines could work? (if there are still only 2 degrees of freedom) 120
Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 29/04/2025He specifies that the group chat is in San Francisco, so perhaps he was in SF in the midst of an actual in-person group conversation about rabbits and got kicked out when someone checked their phone and happened to see his tweet. (This absolutely did not happen, but it is now my headcanon) 120
Alexandre Eira @alex-eira.bsky.social · 25/10/2024This is very interesting! Do you think there is a good reason (e.g., scientific or moral usefulness) to classify these biological responses as (at least tangential to) consciousness? I ask because trees are missing internal representation, which is normally seen as _the_ key aspects of sentience! 240
