Physikalisch ist klar: Die Temperatur des Planeten steigt weiter an, solange wir Öl, Gas und Kohle verbrennen. Das folgt daraus, dass die C Atome, die wir aus dem Boden holen in Form Der fossilen Brennstoffe, seit 100.000.000 Jahren nicht in der Atmosphäre waren und deshalb auch keine Senken haben.

Drei Grafiken Mit jeweils 3 Linien. Oben CO2 Ausstoß, dann die daraus folgende CO2 Konzentration in der Atmosphäre, unten die daraus folgende Temperaturerhöhung. Jahrhunderte nachdem die CO2 Emissionen aufgehört haben, entweder weil wir aufgehört haben zu emittieren oder weil wir nichts mehr haben, fallen die CO2 Konzentration nur sehr langsam ab. Die Temperatur sogar noch langsamer, weil wir den Ozean zum Wärmebad der Welt machen. Die Grafik geht bis zum Jahr 4000 unserer Zeitrechnung.
