so like being surprised is not something thats universally enjoyable to everyone. I blind-played Elden ring & to me, there isnt that much of a quality difference between blind playthrough & knowing. same for outer wilds btw. played blind. great game, but didnt touch me like it has others.

Im interested, I *want* to buy it but the last 2 Zelda games I made me annoyed. I do not want to feel that about games I love/d so much. thus. I'll watch trailers& people play to avoid that. I only got into souls-games after watching someone play it through. BB i played with a map. Still fave game

the movement system (for me, getting into a flow of movement is super enjoyable, so vanquish, mario64, warframe, pulling off stuff in pseudoregalia) makes me want to see how the game is played & how/if they changed mechanics. Last 2 zeldas didnt grab me either, havent made it off the plateau once

not everyone wants or needs to be surprised by something though. It might be that way for a lot of people, but the idea of a "surprise" being something that makes a work more valuable to enjoy just isnt the case for everyone. Also as someone who adores MM & bounced off hard by the remake breaking
