iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

Alejandro @alejandrodiaz.art · 02/06/2026

Some experimentation with acrylics, which I am 100% clueless about. As a digital artist primarily, learning this has been honestly a lot of fun, and want to keep going. Trying to approach my usual digital style, but allowing room for discovery and seeing how far I can get in this medium

“Underneath” This piece is about the self-destructive side of deep depression, hiding underneath the surface. I am sure though that having an incredibly sore throat a few weeks back was, at some subconscious level, a seed for this painting. #darkart

“An Absence Felt” Digital (3D and 2D), 2025 This piece explores the feeling of losing one’s sense of identity, of the quiet (but sometimes sharp) ache of absence, the yearning for a part of the self that feels missing, no matter how desperately I try to reclaim it. #darkart

"The Pretender" This nightmare only pretends to be human, but behind the mask is a predator that only wants to consume. I wondered how often the figures central to most notable events pretend their humanity is genuine when it is merely a mask hiding their predatory nature. #art #darkart

"The Voices We Carry", 2025, Digital The first of 2025 and the first completed artwork in far too long. Multiple layers of meaning behind this one, lots of ideas and thoughts that I explored and deconstructed while working on it. #darkart #mentalhealthart #art

A peek at what I am working on right now. This time of year I hardly get much of a chance to do any art, so this has been moving very slowly unfortunately, but really itching to just jump back to it right now. Damn responsibilities...

These two pieces were among the first after a 13-year or so pause in art. The reasons for this hiatus are complicated, but they revolve around mental health and life events that made the process of painting incredibly painful. In 2019, I got an ipad and that helped me return to creating once again

"Heads", 2020, digital, a painting of of two surreal looking heads

Untitled, 2020, a black and white painting of a multi-eyed creature.

Dear OpenAI, go f*ck yourself. This is what they think of tools like Glaze and Nightshade: "Abuse". Artists protecting their work is in their eyes... "Abuse". Source: www.technologyreview.com/2024/11/13/1...

Congrats on the 3k @johnchen.bsky.social ! This one is one of my favorites despite the heavy emotional stuff behind it, "The Burden of the Lost and Forgotten", 2023, digital

"Don't Forget". This was a piece I created back in 2022, but it feels very relevant today. It mostly reflects the emotional toll that living with #ADHD entails. Created with Nomad Sculpt and Procreate. #adhd #art #procreateartist #nomadsculpt #mentalhealthart #darkart
