Out with the velvet, in with the antlers! ✨ Velvet, a soft tissue, surrounds buck antlers as they grow into strong bone. Around mid-September, velvet dries and begins naturally shedding, although bucks will often speed up the process by thrashing their antlers against vegetation. #PhenologyFriday
