They definitely didn’t create loads of chances, but we didn’t do anything at all outside of Gomez’s missed header. I’m not saying Newcastle had a great performance, it’s more a reflection of how poorly we played in the second half.

And to think, I was disappointed that I had to coach my son’s team today and couldn’t watch. Don’t want to be dramatic, especially since I didn’t see the game, but I don’t know if Hürzeler survives this. At least my son’s team won 3-2. Probably saw better defensive solidity from U9 players #BHAFC

I don’t think he’s “past it” at all, I think he can still contribute at a reasonably high level. That said, if the club wants to contend for Europe consistently, he should probably transition to more of a squad player over the next season or two instead of a nailed on starter.

Like I said, I’m very happy with the performances lately. Like you said though, we’ve got a young squad and a young manager, so I’m not ready to jump on the “Europe is back on” bandwagon, because I’m fairly sure more hard times are coming. And that’s okay. It’s part of the process.

#BHAFC Halftime Thoughts: A very gritty, chaotic opening half. Fairly happy with the performance so far, given how much the lineup has been rotated, but we faded after the equalizer. Penalty felt a bit harsh, but it’s probably asking too much to be on the right side of two VAR decisions.

I don’t think people are accepting of the results. They just aren’t blaming Hürzeler for our lack of finishing. There are perfectly legitimate things to criticize him about in the second half: his substitutions, his inability to come up with a plan b, etc. but the first half is on the players.

To be clear, you're entitled to your opinion, and I actually agree with you about some of Hürzeler's shortcomings, I just don't think everything falls on his shoulders for this poor stretch, and I don't think firing him is the answer right now.

The only person who's dismissing people's opinions is you. Go back and look at your replies to people during this stretch. You're invalidating anyone who expresses anything other than the idea that we're doomed, Hürzeler is to blame for everything, and that he needs to be fired immediately.

I understand what you're reacting to. We had 59% possession in the first half, won the xG battle 0.86 to 0.08, had 15 shots vs. 2 against, forced their keepers to make seven saves, and outside of the one counter attack that was ruled out for offside, didn't really concede anything dangerous.

Reasonable people can debate the exact mix in our situation. Regardless, that doesn't negate the fact that Brighton have performed well in certain aspects of the game at times during this stretch. Has it been enough to produce positive results? No. Does that mean that EVERYTHING is broken? No.

I'm honestly baffled by the way you're interacting with people on here. No one is saying that Brighton are on a good run right now. Finishing has obviously been an issue. There are lots of explanations for this, some are tactical, some are down to player performance.
