Pleased to see my piece on the Five Basics out. The homelessness emergency needs systemic solutions. But families in TA also need healthy living conditions right now. They need to be able to cook a meal & wash their clothes. They need the Five Basics today. www.fixthefivebasics.org/get-involved

Special to be part of an action across London to launch Fix the 5 basics Campaign with Better TA Alliance. An opportunity to celebrate what achieved so far with our Cabinet Member for Housing & reconfirm the commitment to work together to make stays in TA healthier, safer and better for everyone 🌱✨️

London spends £90 million a month housing families in places often lacking basic amenities. The Five Basics campaign is an affordable fix: cooking space, laundry, Wi-Fi, storage and information in every placement. Proactive councils are actioning this, will yours join them? www.fixthefivebasics.org

And we are off! The #FixTheFiveBasics campaign launches today, with local orgs leading actions in ten boroughs across London. We’re calling on local councils to ensure every family in TA can: 1️⃣ Cook a meal 2️⃣ Wash clothes 3️⃣ Get online 4️⃣ Safely store belongings 5️⃣ Understand their housing situation

Families are living in Temporary Accommodation (TA) with no idea how long they'll be stuck there. We met council leaders this week to launch the #FixTheFiveBasics campaign to ensure people in TA have basic necessities such as clear, accessible information. www.fixthefivebasics.org
