Antivirals treat active viral infections. Using HSV-1 IgG/IgM to enroll #Alzheimers patients does not mean the virus is actively driving dementia. Without viral replication, there is no target. Thus, placebo outperforming valacyclovir is unsurprising. jamanetwork.com/journals/jam...
