It's shocking how much software engineering has changed in a year. I no longer write code, I now prompt an AI and review its slop. I'm now expected to do double the work from a year ago even though coding was only 20% of my job. My job literally got harder because of AI. It's insane.

I hate to be pessimistic but it feels like we lost a once in a lifetime chance this midterm cycle. We had a real chance to beat back the establishment, but as of now the left has only gained ground in a handful of primaries. At best the left will win 2 new senate seats and like 8 new house seats.
