Looks like I've got a new buddy knock-knock-knocking on my windowsill... Thought it was droplets from the rain that had just passed, until I turned to look outside. Next time there will be some treats.

Original Tweet from @Mantia: What’s something that seems obvious within your profession, but the general public seems to misunderstand?

Not gamedev related (but I am unemployed anyway), so wrote this FM radio RDS text demodulator, now you only need SDR + PC to get same 64 bytes of text which your old FM car radio player displays :) ...oh, it also supports fm audio, but that was easy part. github.com/alariq/fm_rd...

I am again 'completely right' and have 'fantastic attention to detail'. No, I just googled some electronic components and you fed me with made up specs.

1/2 finally added movie playing support for my old Mech Commander 2 OpenGL rewrite. Noticed that someone has forked my repo and had 600+ [Claude co-authored] commits in 2weeks! (my whole project has ~450). No idea how anyone can work like this.

it was fun. my first approach led to dead end. had to restart from blank state, this led to 1285. Not sure where to go from here, prob. just combine different already implemented approaches which complicates code enormously and not so fun anymore :) kerneloptimization.fun #kerneloptimizationfun

For a complex code requiring multiline comments I often find myself putting a one-liner summary + ref. to another place (like in a book) to not add mental load parsing already complicated code filled with a lot of comments. Wonder if it is only me. One of my friends was quite surprised seeing this.

was fruitlessly trying to find an error in my rasterizer code, until I understood that there is an error here:https://microsoft.github.io/DirectX-Specs/d3d/archive/D3D11_3_FunctionalSpec.htm#3.4.2.1%20Top-Left%20Rule

Imagine your paper being reviewed by Laplace and Lagrange nitpicking on signals with 'corners'... Poor Fourier, his one has not been published until after 15 years after Lagrange has passed away.

1/3 What is the connection between 1001 Arabian Nights and analog video transmission? Nonlinearity in processing composite colour & sound would result into intermodulation distortion. This could be mitigated by increasing sound/line ratio by 1001/1000. Instead FCC decided to reduce
