The messaging will differ greatly in the general, though. And it will be much more vicious (and overtly racist probably). Two years ago, I would have agreed with you, but then Trump was reelected. Republicans have been terrible at governing, but they have message discipline.

I have no idea. He didn’t file a financial disclosure until last week, when there wouldn’t be much time to investigate his properties in Dubai, his consulting fees, and whatever else there might be. It’s alarming that he waited so long to disclose it though.

“Shitting themselves” means there will be enthusiasm that wasn’t there before. Also, the attacks on AES in the primaries are nothing compared to what’s coming. This is a fight the GOP wants in a way that isn’t true of most races this year.

Some people don’t seem to believe the Paramount merger is illegal. Bonta and all the others don’t bring lawsuits like this unless they think they can win. They have a duty to not bring frivolous lawsuits. The judge issuing the TRO even said she thinks the case is likely to succeed.

This is a myth. Obama's campaign was built around Daschle's network. Durbin also backed him early. By Jan 2008, Ted Kennedy was piling in, as did John Kerry, and George Miller was seen as Pelosi's proxy. Obama had lots of "establishment" support. Less than Clinton, but she never had a total lock.

If the primary was Approval Voting, I think Mallory McMorrow would win easily. But when you can only pick one, the choice is Bold Outsider vs Pragmatic Veteran. Not enough room for someone that’s a little of both. Even independence will prefer one over the other, evidently.
