Set my trap too close to a nest recently. They weren’t particularly aggressive but having had a couple colliding with the back of my head I retreated as I didn’t fancy one getting down my neck. Their range around the nest was surprisingly large so my retreat had to be some distance.

My wife constantly uses “not a million miles” as an expression. 🤔 Nowhere on Earth is. 🙄

Nothing else to post as no-one needs another picture of any of the species in my recent traps. Some of the migrants might appeal to those further north but here they’re just a bit dull. That’s not to say that the trap isn’t set for tonight of course. You never know.

Not sure I can recall your visa application crossing my desk. But then Oxford & Cambridge aren’t really in the proper South are they? Migrant moth species ten a penny in Sussex by the sea.

It’s not mad. It’s a necessity. Sometimes even when you can’t pack a trap you might squeeze something into your luggage? Maybe next time?

I think the CMR here will take it as read as I’m no longer sending in photos of geniculea & they are being accepted. Although he does sub out the micros sometimes to a helper.

Counting & recording the same bunch is such hard work & when there’s nothing new it starts to feel pointless. ☹️. Need to try a new location. 👍

72/26 0NFY VC13 #TeamMoth Entrenched in the part of the season where every trap contains the same moths. Hopefully something new will come along soon! The trap “highlights” were my 2nd Feathered Gothic of the year and another Vestal. That’s all folks. FOMO is the only thing keeping me going atm. 🥺

I believe one has a white thorax and one has a grey thorax. Yours looks pretty white. I couldn’t get a decent photo of the one I caught.
