@mrjamesob.bsky.social Am disgruntled today. Your team put through a call asking how birds know when food has been put out for them; yet a couple of weeks ago, they turned down the opportunity I gave them to ask the nation: "What is an itch?" I've had to look it up now. I think you missed a trick!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social you asked what has changed in our society... Well the post below includes a screengrab from google ai search which gives a clue, and I have attached a screengrab from a consultant neuropathologist on twitter that addresses the same issue. This too: www.c19.life/brain

@mrjamesob.bsky.social You will have to learn more about the UK energy market and its implications for Scottish independence. The lady you just described as 'incredibly well informed' unfortunately isn't about Scottish energy. Here's an introduction for you www.these-islands.co.uk/publications...

@mrjamesob.bsky.social ask your callers how Scotland will meet the EU 3% deficit rule to enable them to join. The figures in the chart are from the Scottish Govt. Ask what spending they would cut or what taxes they would increase. Feelings are one thing, practicalities are another.

Now I want to know the names of all the people that @channel4news.bsky.social bleeped out of their coverage of the Farage Scandal last night. They seem to be people who have given donations by illegal means even though they are not permitted donors under electoral law. @mrjamesob.bsky.social

What are “genuine LC patients”? (If I could offer some advice, which of course, is unsolicited and you are free to ignore, can I suggest you don’t lump all those who took issue with you into the same label. Some of them do really good work helping in the LC world. Really good work.”

@mrjamesob.bsky.social context re Richmond Park deer. "Royal Parks said the attack comes amid a surge in social media videos and pictures showing visitors feeding deer." (per BBC) Idiots visiting the Park are teaching deer that humans are a food source. No surprise a man picnicking was attacked.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social re the Red Arrows - it's the other way round. They fly whatever is the current 2-seat training aircraft used for advanced pilot training. Previously it was the Folland Gnat, now it is the BAe Hawk. They won't have a plane because the RAF won't have a 2-seater trainer.

4/ It would have huge well-being outcomes, which in themselves will improve society. We drink 2 L of water and breathe in 11,000 L of air every day. We wouldn't want our children to drink dirty water, so why would we let them breathe dirty air indoors?".

The problem is that very few schools, LEAs or Academy Trusts have the ability to pay the up-front costs of installation, But the Government could, easily, and recover their investment many times over, very quickly.

Alan Barnard @alanbarnard1.bsky.social · 23/05/2026
In England, the up-front costs of installation of air filters, estimated to be c£140m as a one-off cost, would be easily recovered in the first year by savings from supply teacher budgets used to cover for sick teachers, estimated to be c£1.4bn every year.

If a vacancy were to occur in Parliament, for example, if an MP resigns, then the convention is that the Chief Whip of the party whose MP held the seat will move the writ for a by-election *within 3 months* of the vacancy occurring. Just musing out loud…

@mrjamesob.bsky.social you asked what is Labour’s equivalent of the 1922… An MP has to deliver the names of 20% of the PLP who will nominate that MP to stand for Leader to the Labour Party General Secretary (currently Hollie Ridley) who will then report that fact to the NEC, and the contest begins.

And also btw, some of those students now travelling away from Kent back to the so-called safety of their homes, are most likely carrying unwanted bacteria in the noses, and are returning to a population whose immune response (CD4 T cells) have been degraded by repeat Covid infections! 7/7

Alan Barnard @alanbarnard1.bsky.social · 18/03/2026
And also btw, surgical masks such as those being worn by Kent students in queues do not protect from an airborne pathogen. Respirator masks are required (FFP3s). 6/7

And btw, the UKHSA are being less than honest re the mode of transmission. Meningitus B can be carried on exhaled aerosol. However, UKHSA are very worried about talking about airborne transmission, because the implications for the safety of public spaces are huge. 5/7
