Unsurprising yellow shift in that old Dental Slide Film (it's Ektachrome) from Memory Den. Also, I gave a local lab a try and they (or their E-6 partner) managed to scan things backwards. 🤦‍♀️

The shot of 𝕲𝖜𝖞𝖓𝖎𝖛𝖊𝖗 on the right is particularly tricky because she's half-in/half-out of the lights with a green spike, and my Photoshop circa 2002 era skills mean I'm forced into a "too magenta/too green" choice. Which is (maybe?) fixable with better curves manipulation, but see 2002 era skills.

Hit an old familiar place with darkroom printing where the time/money investment to get the results I want feels out of reach. The two local B&W darkrooms want $120/month for access and paper costs start to add up quickly when you're running exposure/contrast tests and flubbing burns.

Running through a roll of expired Tri-X on an old point and shoot from ‘97. I’m taking a darkroom refresher class this weekend (with @erinholographic.bsky.social) and the prospect of not dropping $$ on dev and scan has me a lot more willing to just ‘f about.

Also — the meter up top prompted some research. The small slits are neutral density filters — you line up the darkest visible slit with the edge of the slider and then get a rough exposure. Called an extinction filter. Mine is missing the old Weston film speeds that sat under the f-stops.

Pulled this out of the basement — an old pre-WWII Argus A2F I found thrifting twenty years ago. Shutter plunger is missing and it probably needs a new ring of felt around the interior lens edge for light tight reasons. Not sure if the lens is interesting enough to fix this up.

Sweet — the hot shoe was fine, it was just that the flash won’t fire through it if you have the sync cable left plugged in.
