Grateful for the opportunity to visit CABI in Delémont ✨ Shared my PhD work on species interaction recovery in tropical restoration, and had inspiring discussions on invasion ecology and applied solutions. Returning to my research with a fresh perspective!

Delighted to be shortlisted by the @britishecologicalsociety.org @jappliedecology.bsky.social for the Southwood Prize 2026! Here's a short article about some reflections from our study ✨ This study was a formative step in my training as an early-career ecologist. Thanks to all my co-authors!

Attending the TreeDivNet meeting at @uni-freiburg.de 🇩🇪 It brings together various Biodiversity-Ecosystem Functioning experiments from around the world. I'm very fortunate to collaborate with several of them as part of my PhD research! 🍃✨ More on TreeDivNet: treedivnet.ugent.be

Looking back on the first field trip of the PhD — Sao Paulo, Brazil. Learning and implementing understorey plant sampling techniques in unpredictable weather was challenging at first. But with support from my friend Genilson, things eventually worked out well ✨

Having completed the two-week long #SPSAS workshop, I headed to the Mata Atlântica in south-eastern Brazil! Truly one of the most special places I've visited, although only 6% of the habitat remains today!

Just before the start of my PhD fieldwork in 2024, I participated in a 14-day residential workshop titled "Co-designing Biodiversity Assessments" in Sao Pedro, Brazil. Organized by @agenciafapesp.bsky.social and @unicampoficial.bsky.social, we had participants from over 21 countries!🇱🇰🇳🇵🇨🇳🇮🇳🇺🇲🇧🇼🇳🇦🇿🇲🇿🇼🇨🇦🇵🇹🇫🇷🇨🇭🇺🇾🇦🇷🇨🇴

How are Pacific NW mountain birds responding to climate change? I got up at 4:00 am for a month to find out. but first the backstory, or "how I spent seven years telling everyone this project wasn't possible" new paper here: esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/full/10....

Thrilled to share my Bachelor's thesis work now published in the @jappliedecology.bsky.social! Using microclimate loggers and a 11-year mark-recapture dataset, we examine how selective logging differentially affects the survival and body conditions of eastern Himalayan birds. doi.org/10.1111/1365...

Microclimatic niche shifts predict long‐term survival and body mass declines in a warmer and more degraded world
Using a long-term mark-recapture methodology in the eastern Himalaya, we find that bird species that experience the greatest shifts in microclimatic niches after selective logging undergo the steepes....

The mysterious Jerdon's Courser has been rediscovered outside its known range for the first time in more than a century:

Birders record Jerdon's Courser 16 years after last sighting
The Critically Endangered Jerdon's Courser has been rediscovered in Andhra Pradesh, India, outside its known range for the first time in 125 years. Thought to survive only in a tiny patch of the Lankamalla hills, the elusive bird was detected through acoustic recordings by a team of birders in August 2025. The find provides fresh hope for the species, ranked among the world’s top ten 'lost birds', and highlights the urgent need to safeguard India's remaining scrubland habitats.
