Looking back, DELTARUNE originally being meant to release all at once seems crazy to me. Can you imagine a world without years-long Knight or FRIEND speculation.

"By the way, I currently plan to release all of the chapters at once after we complete them. I'm not sure how long that will take."

"You'll buy all of the chapters at once as one purchase. That'll be the only option. I'm not doing pre-orders because I don't like those. It just seems like the best way not to burn anybody."

Thinking about how Toby mentioned that Kris was inspired by Oersted, the protagonist-turned-villain of LIVE A LIVE.

Toby Fox: To think that our heroic knight of justice would end up like that... It's the kind of wonderful betrayal of expectations that influenced me when I created UNDERTALE as well. You know, the thought process of, "to think the protagonist could actually..." Anyway, I don't think I'm supposed to say any more about that.

To be honest, if anything this LIVE A LIVE influence is even stronger in my current work. DELTARUNE. Not only is the story separated into different chapters, but the player's character is also a sword-wielding fantasy knight, who may play another role than just a simple "hero".
