And besides, unlike the other major horde shooter game out there, at least their Rogue-lite option has been functioning like intended. I can’t imagine how the other one being worked on is going to break the game it’s to be nestled within into a million pieces.

I’m here to say that if you like Rogue-lites, you enjoy DRG, and don’t mind a time limit, then this game is great with some kinks to work out. They even have a road map up showing they understand the time limit is a turn off for many.

Either “this game is a rogue-lite and it hate it for that” (which for the glut of rogue-lites out there, I get it; it’s somehow worse than the hero shooter and battle royales combined in numbers alone) or it’s “incredibly glandular complaint that isn’t necessarily invalid, but isn’t substantive”.

So, DRG: RC has been good. That being said, people have been hyper critical of it despite it being released into Early Access. And the devs telling people it was to be a co-op Rogue-lite. And people pretty much complained about it in either measure of two phylums that I have seen.

Not even sure it’s so much a problem of what people asking for being punished. Anything that is hero shooter adjacent is just disliked these days for how often the concept is spammed. Look at Highguard Granted, it may not help that Imagine Dragons has any attachment to the project reputation-wise.

The Street Fighter movie trailer isn’t giving more than a generic set of tropes masquerading as a video game adaptation. It feels like they think if they throw enough visual references people will point and clap. It could be fine, but it isn’t giving good impressions.

I also think it is a great way to contextualize much of Lovecraft’s work for a (then) modern understanding and (much like the TTRPG), scrubbing away the parts of Lovecraft we leave behind.
