And if you put the physical HK Switch 2 Edition into a Switch 1, the original Japanese/Chinese version will show up with no English in sight. I cannot access my original save and my Expansion Pass download with the game card I currently have.

So. It appears that underneath, the JP/CH and international versions of the Switch 2 Edition are still technically two separate SKUs, just that the JP/CH version gains English support with the upgrade. It still cannot access save data or DLC that is meant for the other regional version.

So if you look on the eShop page for the Switch 2 Edition of Xenoblade 2 and look in the supported languages...huh! It supports ALL languages regardless of region! With this, I imagined I could just grab the Hong Kong physical release of the Switch 2 Edition and continue playing with my save!

My original physical Switch 1 copy of Xenoblade 2 was the US version, as I obviously wanted to play with English, and I was aware that there were two regional variants. So when the Switch 2 version was announced, I wondered if the upgrade was going to be separated by regions again this time around.

So! The original Switch 1 release of XB2 is one of the rare Switch 1 games that actually had two separate regional variants, similar to Splatoon 2. There's the Japanese/Chinese release which only has those two languages, and the "international" release that has everything else including English.

Picked this up at PRGE today: looks like someone just put a standard disc of Twilight Princess inside a store display case? Wonder if anyone has more info on this

Also in the Refurbished Edition shown here there is still a bug in this level (Daze of Thunder) that causes one of the ships required to access one of the collectables to just zoom off the map instead of following its intended path :(
