When will NFL TV sports reporters / analysts use their platforms like this? Instead of being highly paid apologists for billionaire NFL team owners, how about speaking truth to power Troy Aikman, Tom Brady etc. How about calling out Harrison Butker, Nick Bosa etc.

(Part 2 of 2) new White House language (continued) Evolutionsbremse. An “evolutionary brake” is an unintelligent person whose very existence on Earth hinders the advancement of the human species, so to speak. It’s crazy that we’ve gone from “Ich bin ein Berliner” to this.
This is a photograph of President Kennedy giving his famous speech in divided Berlin in which he proudly proclaimed “Ich bin ein Berliner” (I am a Berliner).

credit: the powerful video below was posted on Instagram by @AshleyLouiseJames
This is an image from the beginning of the video clip. It is a photo of a strong woman standing in her living room. The caption in the photo reads “1928: All women aged over 21 were given voting rights.”This is an image from the end of the video. It shows the same strong woman standing in her living room in a red dress like one from The Handmaid's Tale.

“The colors the women wear on the popular Hulu series The Handmaid's Tale are not just any colors. They are not colors the women themselves have chosen to wear. Instead, they are colors the women have been forced to wear that represent their roles in the totalitarian theocracy known as Gilead. The color of the women's clothes indicates their duties, along with hidden meanings”

“Even though the women have been silenced, their clothes speak volumes about who they are and what they represent.”

“All handmaids are required to wear long, loose, deep red dresses. When it is cold and they have to go outside, they also wear matching cloaks. The color of the garment indicates their function. They are to have sexual intercourse once a month with the high-ranking Commander they have been assigned to. The Commander's barren wife sits at the handmaid's head, and holds her hand so she can lie motionless. This is the wife's part in the conception of a child that will be turned over to her.”

“Former lead costume designer Ane Crabtree told Vulture that the color of the handmaids' garments was meant to symbolize "lifeblood," because the handmaids' main duty was to function as reproductive organs.”

“A practical reason for the handmaids wearing red is so they will stand out in a crowd. That way it is easy for them to be caught if they step out of line.”

“The blood red of the handmaids' dresses is no longer limited to the series. Women are wearing red garments in protest of how the handmaids are treated in Gilead.”

“In contrast to red, the handmaids also wear white bonnets and wings to symbolize purity and innocence. The white wings cover their heads and faces to separate them from the world, and to separate the world from them.”

Thanks for the link! The work you do saving dogs is amazing. Mila l came into my life last year and I now understand why some say that humans don’t deserve dogs. I can imagine that the toll that not being able to save every dog might take. Take care. 🩵🕊️

It’s been an ongoing quest for me and the target seems to keep moving as I grow older. And when the intense searchlight blinds my eyes, I have to remember to be gentle with myself, to treat myself with a walk amongst trees. Good luck on your journey. You are cherished and not alone. Take care. 🩵🕊️

This is an image of a young boy and a rabbit sitting on the stump of a tree that was felled by a storm.

The boy ponders aloud: “How strange that the grass is all that remains after the storm.”

The rabbit replies: “Sometimes being soft is strong.”

This is an image of a woman holding her child’s hand as they gaze at the star-studded night sky. The quote by Zoe Clark-Coates is: “Whenever I see someone with an abundance of empathy I want to ask what heartbreak they have endured, for compassion is often birthed in the valley of despair.”

I get to kiss this adorable one everyday. Mila has brought immeasurable happiness to my life. I could do without the return kisses, though. It’s not only that having my face, hands and feet licked leaves me smelling like... but also I feel bad for her kissing smelly me first thing in the morning.
This is a photo of my dog, Mila, who has brought immeasurable joy to me.

The image is of the reflection of galaxies in a person’s eyes as they gaze out into space. There is a quote about the fact that each eye contains over 100 million photoreceptor cells, with each of these cells containing over 100 trillion atoms. The quotes says that each of these was born in the core of a star. So when we gaze up into the night sky, we are the Universe experiencing itself.

Quote from Arundhati Roy:

“The System will collapse if we refuse to buy what they are selling — their ideas, their version of history, their wars, their weapons, their notion of inevitability.

Remember this: We are many, they are few. They need us more than we need them.

Another world is not only possible, she is on her way. On a quiet day, I can hear her breathing.”

“In everyone's life, at some time, our inner fire goes out. It is then burst into flame by an encounter with another human being. We should all be thankful for those people who rekindle the inner spirit.” ~ Albert Schweitzer
